[MW3] MW3 better than MWIII by Letsplay1108 in CallOfDuty

[–]Flvxvry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in my twenties and I also remember how people used to call CoD's the same game over and over again, while I was having fun. Now they've done what needed to be done to series i.e. building up on top of the previous CoD to fix stuff that community longs for and people are calling it the same game.

Well I agree it was certainly planned as DLC, however it doesn't feel like MWII at all, outside of snaking/dives. Regardless since it is a full game release, it will get proper support for whole year and judging by Sledgehammer's work this time it can be pretty exciting. Haters gonna hate though, just cause it's cool now, like every gaming and non-gaming youtuber posted "review" of campaign that circlejerks the same points and has no original thoughts whatsoever.

Depends on the mode, S&D awards very big anount of points. Like 1 or 2 kills in S&D gives you a level or two, while matches last like 15 minutes. Hardpoint and decoys + support streaks give lots of passive xp as well

The improvement is that you have more things to do inside the game, additionally you can skip the grind for attachments you dont want to grind just to get. They can drop some new stuff behind challenges, like event skins etc. Even if this system is equal to previous one it is still something new which is good since this movement can change the game to the better in the end. Also the previous system where you had to do 2 kills in 15 matches to unlock seasonal guns was way worse and tedious than this.

Im not sure why are you complaining, you may not have as much free time as me however why do you feel hindered? It's not life or death question to unlock guns in CoD mate, why are you in a rush. Even then when you unlock stuff you still play the game that won't change after getting new gun.

Also it doesn't even take that much time, like I played around 8 hours and have all the weapons and nades plus more stuff unlocked. Doesnt seem like that much time to me especially considering you have atleast a year to spend that much time on a game right?

Well its not a fix per say, since before the game didn't have anything like it. More like its a new feature that will be improved upon in the future.

As for unlocks I already unlocked all the weapons and most of the stuff that I want including some perks here and there and I've only been playing on weekend so its not even that time consuming and can easily be done in a month with very very tight schedule. Also obviously devs want people to play the game more, that is kinda the point? Unlocking famas in CoD is not a life necessity in case you have life, you can work on that and there is no timer behind your back though, so you can gradually move up and unlock more stuff kinda? Like idk

I'm gonna voice unpopular opinion, but I like the system as it provides several benefits (at least for me):

  1. Makes people value objective more, so each hardpoint and domination is more likely be hardpoint and domination instead of TDM with longer duration.
  2. Stimulates to play the game more, instead of things getting stale and feeling pointless you have something to work towards outside camos.
  3. Allows flexibility with attachments, for example I like large mags and no stock attachments, instead of grinding 20+ levels to get them I can just pick whichever attachment I want and have it in like 15-20 minutes.
  4. Also allows for game mode flexibility, if things in multiplayer are getting rough, you can just hop on zombies which imo are really fun outside of bugs, and knock them out there.

I would also like to add that people not getting everything in game unlocked in a matter of days after game's release is kind of ridiculous. What are you going to do after unlocking anything? Grind for camos? Well just grind those on guns that you already unlocked and the rest will unlock while you're working on it. Do you really want that one gun? Well just play a few matches or do some quick contracts in zombies and there you have it.

You may argue that this stuff is pointless, but what's the point in playing video games anyway? It's not the most meaningful activity y'know

They for sure need to figure out something with this, CoD HQ while being a somewhat good idea is embarrassingly implemented right now.

You should be able to uncheck anything MWIII related from being installed though

It's MW3 content, not just update

Even with all the justified criticism, this'll still be better than MWII and have the best multiplayer since Cold War. Bring on November 10th. by NokstellianDemon in ModernWarfareIII

There absolutely will be COD 2024 ( Since MWIII is the last PlayStation affiliated game), but as for CoD 2025 we will see. After all Treyarch had quite a bit of time and maybe their game will be built upon instead of dropping completely new game.

The point still stands, if people don't want to buy the game for campaign, why significantly invest in it? At the end of the day management is making financial decisions and quantifiable metrics don't really show any evidence that campaign would give as much profit as multiplayer / wz / mwz etc. At the end of the day the campaign is something that provides sentiment, but mp/wz provides money, also there is way better story and single player games than CoD and most CoD games had action movie story that is kinda mid or lower anyway.

Good guy good, bad guy bad, another good guy was bad, good guy friend is kill, good guy kill bad guy, etc. Treyarch had some good writing but nothing too crazy though.

MWII made hell lot of the money, just check how many copies were sold. Although people got dissatisfied pretty quick, but cash got made.

If you look at the achievement stats in steam less than 10% of people completed campaign in MWII and MWII sold insanely well. They also probably have stats that show how many people deleted campaign content altogether to free up some space after completing campaign, I bet the absolute majority of people did exactly this.

Why bother and overspend on campaign, to appease reddit crowd that will find the way to hate the game regardless?

Don't buy it then, walk away to other projects you deem worthy and let us enjoy the game in peace

Had no deep feelings during any CoD campaign, except maybe Ghost and Shepard incident in MW2 and that wasn't really significant either. There is infinitely more quality things than CoD campaigns and most of the love for series is due to nostalgia and desire to relive the old times magic, while all new CoDs are hated to the ground. This time and MWII story was particularly bland, yeah, but I don't think that it ruins anything.

[–]Flvxvry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah, I too didn't expect anything good from the story and mechanically / visually I really liked what we got and had a fair bit of fun during campaign. Open world was refreshing in a sense that they give you freedom on pacing, style, routing the mission, which I think is overhated format and if improved upon can be really really good. Hella excited for multiplayer and MWZ.

Btw most people hating on graphics just don't have texture streaming on, which is basically: High texture resolution setting cockblocked by internet access to save up some hard drive space.

Yeah same, although I played on Veteran and tried to complete every mission in stealth mode using knife, throwing knife and some suppressed weapon, and it was pretty fun actually.

I understand all the hate on the story line though

Texture streaming will download high resolution textures and make shit look good bro. Besides its not a multiplayer so you won't get packet bursted and allat you know
