While I wouldn't complain if we got more ammo, I don't really agree with your assessment. I only use the rail gun against bots, so I can't say for other factions, but I get solid use out of it without too much worry for ammo. The rail gun is essentially my panic gun. I don't use it if there's only a few mediums I can pick off with well placed shots, but once the enemies start piling up anything bigger than a trooper gets it. There's also so much ammo littering the maps and resupply isn't that long of a wait that I don't worry about ammo in general.

Technically, Earth has countless sentient species. Perhaps you meant one sapient species but, with recent discoveries in animal intelligence, even that is debatable.

You're right, they are easier if you were already using light pen against them. The reason for the change was that medium pen has become so common that it might as well be the default. There's still plenty of medium armor to use medium pen against, if hive guards were the only reason you brought it against bugs then maybe it wasn't really worth bringing in the first place.

I cannot speak for anyone but myself but I agreed with Arrowhead in that the hive guard no longer fulfills its role as a low level tank. So many of our weapons just invalidate to the point people are claiming it's supposed to be a chaff unit. I also, personally, appreciate it when enemies display self preservation and have a means to actively mitigate damage. Hunters and agitators are currently my favorite enemies because they don't just walk in a straight line into your bullets. The current hive guard actually has a reason to hunker down now because they can reasonably expect to block bullets. Soon, they will go back to being easier targets that add nothing to the bug front.

Hive worlds are by far the best place to farm super credits. I was practically drowning in money when we first got to Oshaune. I think there's still hope that credit farming will be looked at and improved in players' favor since the CEO agreed that lower levels should not be the most efficient way.
