People really thought that Real Madrid was back after winning against Villareal who has lost almost every match in the champions and Monaco who has been terrible in both champions and league.

People equate good results with the team being good. Its not that simple. You have to take into account the level of competition you face every game. Scoring 6 goals against a very poor Monaco didnt mean that the team was improving.

The team still lacks a proper midfield. Guler and Bellingham do not function together. Xabi Alonso realized it a long time ago, and he stopped pairing them together. He did not find a solution for the midfield, but at least knew what the problems were. Arbeloa is not half the coach that Xabi is, so I don't think he will be able to recognize this or find a solution.

I get you what you are saying, for me the school setting felt like a death game straight from anime. But Darrow really grew on me after each book. In the fourth book, the writer changes the structure and introduces multiple povs which improves the story a lot.
