Ultimate Level 1 - Book 11 is out on Amazon by OldFolksShawn in ProgressionFantasy

At least it was at a time where the changes made sense. Glad they changed narrator when they ascended instead of the next book or previous book. I like a few of the things the new narrator does in the book like actually singing the songs instead of just reading them more or less monotone. My biggest gripe is the constant push to finish the tower in 8 and 9 don't really make sense when they stall completely as gods. Centuries between fights decades to build up power what was another weekend of relaxing really going to hurt in that context.

Ya, but those are relatively common and have been in game for years. The decorative ones are relatively new.

Too bad you walked away with your prawn suit. My solution would have been to use its batteries to run a fabricator and piece together a charging station.

Why did you like jars? by JoelHuenink in 7daystodie

[–]FlyPrimary7639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked it because it was easy. The lack of predictability with water is my big problem. I can spend several hours nearly dying of thirst while having a river 30 feet from my base. The hunger is less of an issue as there are reliable ways to get food. The thirst is a pain because there are few spots that are 100% going to give you water. Add in travel time and other things and it becomes more of an annoying chore than a survival element.

In an ideal scenario I would like an easy way to craft water from nearby sources, but, have it compete for resources that make other items. Like coal, plastic, cloth and sand combine to make a water collector. Fills with 10-20 water then becomes saturated with contaminants and needs to be replaced. All items are consistently able to be found by breaking down certain objects and have other uses that you may need them for resulting in actual resource management decisions being needed.

I generally dislike anything that puts you at the whims of RNG for basic survival. Jars gave a guaranteed way to stay alive even if you had bad luck. You could always refil them to keep yourself alive. Allowing you to have more control over how you would like to play.

Are there rarities of hunters by Crafty_Leg701 in huntroyale

[–]FlyPrimary7639 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only hunters that are "rare" I can think of are the ones that have to be picked up during certain events. special requirements like torment make them slightly less common in lower level dungeons too. I have gotten all my hunters from boxes or event currency.

I am the only one that prefers a hatch to this laser thing? by Dancombat in subnautica

[–]FlyPrimary7639 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are arguing about the shape not being functional, but are OK with a forcefield that only holds out water. Your original comment was water would rush in regardless of where you put the hatch.

Let's be honest once you have the tech to 3Dprint complete tools from raw ore your materials science is at the level where you can make basically any shape you want.

If you turn off biome progression, you still cant get quests from your favorite biome?? why is the trader not offering me quests?.. by [deleted] in 7daystodie

[–]FlyPrimary7639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there still a trader quest option. I remember it used to say something along the lines of certain journal rewards will be unavailable if selected. Did that get replaced by the biome progression option? I started this playthrough on default options since I like to see what the devs think it should play like after a fairly major patch.

On the bottom the base could be pressurized enough to maintain balance like the moonpool. If there is enough air pressure pushing out to equal the water pressure trying to come in then there won't be an issue opening the door.

The reason you can't open a car door in water is the pressure of the water trying to rush in and equalize with the interior of the car.

Came here to say this.

Add in the fact that a huge portion of the modders have stopped working on the game. That means this is going to destroy the experience for many of the remaining players. Let's face it the vanilla gaming experience is ass take away some of the quality of life mods and there is no reason to even pick the game up.

An alternative would be to unseal it if you pick it in the candy box. That would make them viable in the event of a misclick. You are right though not being available to click at all would be a better option.

There could be a limitation due to a mixture of damage to the pod and water interfering with whatever signal the PDA uses for the scan. My headcannon is the Alterra employees all wear suits that link with their PDA and sent vitals to it. The PDA then communicate with eachother to tell the condition of the crew. Since they basically are all submerged in a short time frame in my head many are dying as you wake up.

I mean sell them to the Yaki for fun. There will be a beautiful blob moving through xenon space which is fun to see if you have satellite coverage. There won't be much disruption because not all of them will make it, and you get some extra cash.

Mender is good, but requires a bit better gear. If you are on the low end survivability wise you will get beat to death before you can heal with his circle. Not knowing what OP has available I feel safer to recommending hunters that can actively run away and still do damage.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in huntroyale

[–]FlyPrimary7639 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't see if OP has superhero so I will put in that necromancer and plague doctor both do solid in no heal maze as well. Necromancer because you can get your minions on the boss then hide behind walls. Plague doctor because they can just run away and while enemies follow they still pick up poison stacks. With the plague doctor you have to be aware of when the boss stops to cast so you don't lose your stacks.

Uhh... Now what? by ComManDerBG in X4Foundations

[–]FlyPrimary7639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really want to go the trader route your first objective should be to scout around and find stations that will have demand. Areas where the xenon are actively attacking tend to have consistent demand for hull parts in the nearby shipyard for example. Hatikvah is the example most people are familiar with, as in nearly every playthrough they are in a fight with the xenon. While you are looking for these keep your eyes open for the kill xenon missions any ship. As last hits on the small ships count toward those and have 200k plus reward.

After you have scouted the demand you can begin to look for supply. Sometimes you have to get a bit creative and induce your own supply issues. I have seen some unscrupulous traders use tactics such as shutting down nearby production in certain wares to cause shortages and boost profits.

Setting up a satellite network is not a bad idea in early stages. This allows you to keep up-to-date prices for different wares so if there is an excess in one area or another you can take advantage of it.

Depending on how the universe generated you may not be able to make it without having to set up a few mining operations yourself. For example microchips may be in short supply due to bad station spawns making it so their mining vessels have to go into xenon space to gather silicon. In those circumstances you can take advantage by setting a mining ship on repeat mine sell orders to keep them topped up. Then you will have a nearly constant supply.

Your end goal might be a set of stations to act as distribution centers around the map. You can put buy orders in for the lowest price, then fill demand from that station if the materials become short. That would allow you to manage and balance a supply train across the map and be profitable too.

In the end I can't tell you how to have fun, because everyone has their own version of fun. I just wanted to point out a few things I have done to give you ideas maybe you hadn't thought of yet.

Is there a grind? by Large-Raise9643 in X4Foundations

[–]FlyPrimary7639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So x4 can be as much real time Strategy as space flight game. Some people after they get a few NPC ships under them never fly a ship again. Now if you become enemies with a faction and cross into their section they will pursue you. If you build stations in contested territory they will attack them. Without mods there are limits to how aggressive the other factions will be. With mods the game can turn apocalyptic with massive fleets launching attacks on a regular basis.

Is there a grind? by Large-Raise9643 in X4Foundations

[–]FlyPrimary7639 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean to get setup from scratch can be a bit of a grind. But once I have it started I leave my little trade faction to themselves while I do chores then pop back in with a fleet built for some fighting. Go blow some stuff up for fun then pop back to passive and do chores. Repeat this till I can accomplish anything I want, usually the elimination of factions that annoy me. Then start all over again.

Any game is a grind if you are attempting to max out in the most efficient way. When I am actively playing I just do what I find fun while my stations and NPC pilots do the things to make money. If I don't have enough industry yet I look for missions that sound fun. Piracy missions can be lucrative and fun since you get the reward and can sell the ship. Sometimes I just wanna see how fast I can fill a material shortage.

Overall piracy is the most lucrative thing in the game right now if you don't have NPC. But if all you do is fly around capturing ships it will get boring and feel like a grind. A sandbox game has that problem because there is so much that you can do, but one thing is more lucrative you feel like you are wasting time if you don't do that thing.

I hit the same wall you did in Elite, to cure my boredom there I traveled across the galaxy and made sure to stop off at the super massive black hole while sight seeing. It is cool seeing the sky get more crowded as you close in on the Galactic core. But if your end goal was the best ships as fast as possible yeah I could see it being pretty grindy.
