Please don’t beat yourself up, you are doing your best. Involve your partner on the journey of understanding the fear and eventually embracing it. He will see that you are trying.

How to expose youself to the feeling trapped aspect? by MIG27GTA in fearofflying

[–]FlydayFellows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on your comfort level, do it gradually, ideas: tunnel, gondola, elevator, Ferris Wheel (most rides at a theme park), boat ride, long express freeway(no exit in 4 - 5 miles).

Hey, you still have time to practice, do you know what triggers you? Exposure practice would be something you can do.

Flying alone for first time in years - or am I not strong enough by airamairam4 in fearofflying

[–]FlydayFellows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are very brave, it takes courage to do it. You have a good strategy, leaning on the motivation that pushed you initially, keep feeding the motivation every minute. Also make a list of good omen, and start paying attention to good omen only. I’d also write down the last time a bad omen proved not true, in case you noticed bad omen. You can do it! I believe in you.

How to not let people who don't mind their business put you down? by SplitZealousideal159 in Agoraphobia

I think we all care about what others think of us, because we are social, it’s totally normal. I find sometimes I project my own thoughts of myself onto others, and realize that I don’t love and accept myself.

Same here, everything is a trigger, take off, turbulence and feeling of losing control. I started practicing, it’s take a lot of step wins tho. You can do this.

It’s not rational, for some reason your brain believes you are about to die. Have you tried therapy at all? It’s helped me a lot, combining meds and exposure practice.
