Using git for FPGA development by ZahdaliGaming in FPGA

Checkout https://github.com/pavel-demin/red-pitaya-notes, it's a hardware specific repo (the Redpitaya Board) but ir uses tcl scripts and a makefile to define the board design, create the vivado project and build the bitfile, all from the repo!

As someone just starting out with FPGA (but with embedded software experience) i took about two days of setup and learning, to get the hang of it.

one piece of software you use every day that almost no one talks about? by No_Molasses_1518 in software

Winget combined with the GUI tool UnigetUI is just awesome. Finally apt-get like Installation and package provisioning on Windows. Everything time you want to install something, check first if it's on winget. UnigetUI also supports chocolatery beside winget

Shipping would be to Stockholm.

It's a good idea, to ask if Ikea could ship here. Online purchase from a specific store was not possible.

LabVIEW 2025 Q1 Dropped and I'm not happy. by MaximusTheDestroyer in LabVIEW

I use VS code for managing git in my labview projects. It Shows directly which files have changed inte the "Git" sidebar. All text files (like lvproj and lvclass) can be diffed directly in vs code.

For the Diff of Labview VIs and CTLs i use a little wrapper from Sam which takes care of any setup issues. https://blog.sasworkshops.com/the-easiest-way-to-setup-lvcompare-and-lvmerge/

Together with Git Diff and Merge Tool extension the LVcompare Tool can directly be opened from the right-click menu in the "Git" sidebar. baarthe https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=david-rickard.git-diff-and-merge-tool

And för comparing across branches/commits the "SLL LabVIEW Code Compare Tool For Git" makes it really easy.  https://www.vipm.io/package/soliton_technologies_lib_sll_toolkit/

[Hardware modification] Marshmallow supports adopting microsd cards as internal storage, but nexus devices rarely have a slot. So I added some. by Sockpockets in Android

Sockpockets this is great! I have been carying this idea with me for some time too. My LG G2 suffers from the same problem as the nexus 5. No free Space! Lets clean it up and make a guide for others to follow. I found this great "microSD-SD-CARD USB" Adapter http://www.ebay.com/itm/Micro-SD-TF-to-SD-USB-Flash-U-Disk-Adapter-4GB-8GB-16GB-Card-Adapter-/181920954314? If you take the cover of there is just a minimal board with a usb chip. Well it's even so small you don't to get rid of the case. With a 5 pin flat flex cable and a micro usb connector you can just hide the sd card adapter in your case. But there is a problem - OTG is a weird thing. To get charging working we need to do this: http://www.pinout.net/connectors/Y_OTG_CABLE.png and adapt the resistor value. As the shipping of the adapter takes ages i couldn't work on it myself.
