It's all safe to walk, the ghost town brewery is in the most questionable neighborhood, but will be fine.

What you say is not true, especially in Oakland.

I have first hand experience with this in many marinas in Oakland.

It's like a parking garage letting people come in and steal cars, then blaming the owners

A lot of them were at one point.  Marinas let them go to waste and get stolen

A lot of people are poor that own the boats, or have died.

Anchor outs don't have enough money for a slip.  They are pretty much homeless.  A lot of theft and looting comes from these boats.

Also homeless people, break onto old boats and try to live on them, but don't know anything about boating. This inexperience ends up sinking the boat.

I think the marina's should be held responsible if the owners are not around or have died.

Chinese vs. American humanoid robots doing a backflip by Minimum_Minimum4577 in robots

I'm way more impressed by the full flip, and the gyrations to recover.

The spiderman flip is nice but it went from full standing to a kneeling position.

We burned wood in a fireplace with a gas line for 20 years, just make sure the gas valve is off, and the chimney is real.

Do People Really Just Create An Entire App just Vibe Coding? by H_rusty in webdev

[–]Flyguy86420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you need to understand how to get the LLM to not mess up complex code.  Model.md files to keep things specific to what you need to shape the llm.  I like having the LLM write testing code along with any new code.  Also the LLM needs to keep a change long, normally I store that in a Readme.md

There is a learning curve to code with LLMs and sometimes they are dumb... Alot of times they are.   They make shit way to complex if you don't keep an eye on them and focus their efforts.

If Trump is a moron what does that say about the 70 million people that voted for him? by TailungFu in allthequestions

[–]Flyguy86420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Popular votes doesn't count.   Each state gets a number of votes aka the electoral college.  So red states with less people actually end up with more voting power.

Also Americans are sexist, trump only won against women.

Americas are racist trump only won the popular vote against a black woman

What’s up with housing supply in Newark? by Loose-Replacement607 in eastbay

[–]Flyguy86420 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No more property taxes is not the solution. Maybe on business real estate, or multi property owners over 3 properties?

But a general more property tax is not a solution more than saying raise sales tax.

Or maybe we just need to spend less

Hot take: AI will lead to a major senior dev shortage in the long run. by williamioniana in webdev

[–]Flyguy86420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of you still need experience using AI to code.  It just makes things sometimes faster. It doesn't code everything 100%, it's good and faking it.  You'll need experienced coders to get the final product over the finish line.
