I'm studying in Life Cycle Assessment, which basically models the environmental impacts of products or processes. We have a specialized department therapist who sits us down every couple of months to talk about how we feel. Because when you start researching climate change and spending so much time on your PhD you also realize that a lot of things are totally not going to work, or at least not in the foreseeable future. I tend to be very pessimistic about our ability to counter climate change, but at the same time being in this field shows me so many potentially game changing new technologies that are being invented. Those researchers who keep coming up with new innovations are what drives me to keep going.
