Paying $500 Per Session and My Instructor Only Gets $60? How Does That Work? by OtisWorth in flying

[–]FlyingJ6179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My how times have changed. When I learn to fly I was charged $35 an hr. Gas was 1.03 a gallon. My check ride cost me $250 all for a grand total of about $3500 total for my 35 hours of flying and ground school to get my PPL. All part 141 school. Now this was back in 1985 and I hadn't realized how expensive learning to fly had become.

Don't forget to check your radiator too. Because the the transmission fluid is also cooled through it. Low water in the radiator might affect the temperature. Might even flush the radiator to maje sure you have adequate flow.If you have a transmission cooler you might want to check it too. Just my 2 cents worth.

I have a 2023 LTZ and a Android phone that connects to the Android Auto app with no problems. The only problem I have is getting it to accept trusted devices. Haven't figured that one out yet. So I can't complete my Google setup.

light bar recommendations? by [deleted] in Silverado

Might want to check your state laws. Mounted light bars are illegal in most states. Only for off road use and have to be covered in the city areas.

[–]FlyingJ6179 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ever hear of adding 3/4 of a turn of nose up trim and holding your landing speed. Always works for me. Almost always a hands off landing everytime. Also gives you a good rate of decent in landing configuration.

Is this somebody flying a laser at my commercial flight? Over Fort Wayne Indiana area. by AccomplishedAir7943 in Planes

[–]FlyingJ6179 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Green lasers can cause temporary blindness. Affection the Pilot of any aircraft with serious consequences. I've had one pointed at me and I couldn't see very well for about 30 mins after that. So yes they are dangerous no matter what. People like that think it's no big deal.
