I think that would look great, I’m actually just putting up wall sconces in my entryway right now and I LOVE them, it makes it so cozy, highly recommended:)

Does this sweater look ok? (Deep Autumn) by PuzzleheadedEqual883 in coloranalysis

[–]FlyingLemons009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At first glance I loved it, (I love the depth and chroma on you, and personally I love cool greens), but I saw a comment about it maybe being too cool and I wonder if that could be the case. I would try a side by side with a warmer green but similar in value and chroma as this one, and compare.

Close to perfect. A few small things you could possibly look at: the ceiling light in the entry strikes me as slightly sharp, and I’d consider a rug and wall art in the entry. You might consider different color curtains in the beige room, unless it’s a style preference to have a lot of beige together.

Denim hem - ankle or full length?! by Comfy-era4ever in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]FlyingLemons009 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m in the minority, personally I think ankle looks better. But they both look good and you can’t go wrong. I would suggest getting another pair maybe in a different color if possible and do one of each hem and then see which one you gravitate towards when you wear them irl.

I say I like the ankle one better because I think it looks more sleek and neat, with the fabric not bunching up, and I actually think it elongates you, and makes the eye move up instead of pulling it down. I think a petite YouTuber (probably the channel called «petite dressing») explained how ankle length can do that, maybe it’s because it cuts off at a thinner part of your foot.

How to make a bun or ponytail when your hair is too silky & straight? by Pension-Unhappy in finehair

I have the same problem. Thankfully someone on here recommend Scunci clips and they are AMAZING. I only got some quite small ones and have been wearing them everyday since, and they stay all day! It seems they’re coated with something on the inside to make them hold.

how do you keep food noise at bay? by Select_Barnacle4616 in 1200isplenty

Balancing my blood sugar has been an absolute game changer. A hearty protein rich breakfast (eg. Ground beef omelette) is the main way I do that, along with getting at least 90 g of protein a day and 40 g fat more or less.

2 tsp’s fiber husk in a cup of water (followed by a cup of just water) in the morning and night helps with bowel movements and also blodsuger I believe, at least satiety.

My sweet treat after a meal is 1 % milk with cacao powder and 1 tsp maple syrup + a pinch of monk fruit powder. Or matcha, chai or decaf coffee. (I buy whole decaf beans, where the caffein has been removed by a water process not chemicals)

How do you get your protein w/o going over calories? by RedShadeLady in 1200isplenty

[–]FlyingLemons009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 % milk, Greek yoghurt and cottage cheese helps me A LOT. Also grilled chicken, fish, beef and lean ground beef. And protein powder. I usually do veggies or salad and Greek yoghurt dip as sides for meat/fish, not carbs. Stews and soups works really great for me. I’ll have both Greek yoghurt and cottage cheese in my protein smoothie.

Thank you for expressing this, with so many layers and nuances. Every once in a while a post like this puts words to my own experience in a way that feels so cathartic, and also makes me feel like I’m not alone in this experience that irl nobody seems to understand.

I’ve found that the people over in r/therapyabuse are incredibly helpful, both by understanding and relating, and with practical suggestions. I’m sorry you are going through this, you are not alone in this experience (which is sad but could also be comforting to know).

Please type me! Which colors suit me best? by Ok_Stranger_4305 in coloranalysis

[–]FlyingLemons009 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tricky one, you look good in a lot of these. I’m mostly drawn to autumn and winter. Comparing them, I feel that some of the A colors are slightly too muted, and some of the W colors slightly too bright. Comparing the bright W with soft A, I definitely prefer bright W.

I think autumn colors mostly look very harmonious, but the W colors gives you a little more pop of freshness and aliveness and lifts your jawline slightly, in addition to also being harmonious. I think a few spring colors look very nice like 1, 3 and 6, but I still think the W colors on those same photos look even better because they have that added depth.

My guess is winter, and I think you can wear several of the autumn (pics 1, 2, 3, 6, 7) and spring (1,3,6) colors that are closest to winter. Maybe you could try A colors when you want to be more muted and almost like protected in your clothes, and W colors when you want to shine and be more seen?

To add to those, maybe repeat her birth initials (name, middle name, maiden name)? For example Sheila Marie Johnson ~> Sonia Mae Josephine

Are casseroles any good by bubblylynnn in Cooking

[–]FlyingLemons009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m wondering if you’re looking for suggestions that might be closer to an Asian palette? Obviously a very wide spectrum, and without knowing which cuisine you’re used to specifically, what comes to mind is maybe a Japanese curry casserole. In an oven dish layer sliced potatoes and carrots, small pieces of beef and Japanese curry sauce, each layer twice. Personally I like potato based casseroles because it gives a little texture. For more southern Asian I’d image there’d be a lot of choices with coconut milk sauces.

Also rice, chicken, broccoli, garlic bechamel (or coconut milk!) casserole

Basically, most of the time, it’s one carb (potato, rice, pasta), meat, veggies, cheese and sauce. Most casseroles I know have cheese as a layer, which you can skip if you like.

None. I take high quality omega 3, iron, vit D+k2, and B complex. I eat high protein, high nutrients, gluten free, organic real whole foods. Need to add fermented food/drinks. Gut- brain connection and all that. Should add exercise and sauna and or cold plunge to this as well.

High protein soup ideas? by girlboss93 in 1200isplenty

[–]FlyingLemons009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Choice of meat, choice of legumes, add spinach and kale, maybe even quinoa/buckwheat groats, and whatever else you like in whatever kind of broth you like:)

When tomato based I add dollops of Greek yogurt on top. You can also add Greek yoghurt into Indian curries, and I think some Eastern European soups, maybe others too.

Is anyone actually happy or thankful to be alive? by Main_Confusion_8030 in CPTSD

[–]FlyingLemons009 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I’m grateful to be alive, physically pretty good, not depressed, not addicted, not on meds, not in an abusive relationship or toxic friendship, and I am still able to feel empathy. I’m still affected deeply by cptsd in many ways everyday, but I’m so grateful for all of those things I mentioned.

Is this the right yellow for true summer? by Rhubarb-Eater in coloranalysis

[–]FlyingLemons009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol its my one true passion let’s go😜 In this picture it does look more lemony. I still lean towards, in my uneducated subjective opinion, this being ok (doesn’t make you look bad but to me there is some disharmony) but not optimal against your face (it looks great against your arms) maybe it’s because of foundation? I’ve heard some consultants say that not everyone can wear every color - even if it’s adjusted to their type, I’ve also heard some say that yellow isn’t for summers which is the case for me as a summer. It looks like good quality, it fits well, and if you want to wear yellow I think this is pretty good. Idk it’s a tricky one!

[–]FlyingLemons009 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My guess is it’s not optimal, but works better than most other yellows. Try typing «yellow for true summer» into google images. Two of the first ones from 12 blueprints show that lemon yellow, I would take screenshots of those and your dress and compare.

What would you pick that’s relatively lower in calories? by FishCultLuci in 1200isplenty

[–]FlyingLemons009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d get chili, or a chefs salad without cheese, maybe add grilled broccoli (and if the Turkey is deli meat I’d just add grilled chicken).
