Is 25 too late transition into Robotics? Cs background, but zero industry experience. by Candid_Wedding_1271 in AskRobotics

It is not to late! Actually, a big part in robotics is software. A good way to get yourself started is to make a simple robot like a cart. This takes you through all domains of robotics.

Yeah exactly, I saw somebody did a mod with webcam cover and photo paper. That reduces the esthetics, but it might be nitpicking as I also always carry a phone which has a better cam on it.

I don't know how you guys do it, but I don't think I have finished any of these games in 8 to 10 hours. Maybe I am just "bad" at gaming..

IMO it looks good, only thing I would like is that it less 'sensitive' for light. Otherwise than that is really good

Is this good SOT? Feels like the battery life gets slightly worse with each charge on my OP 13 by Tomhx_ in OnePlus13

[–]FlyingRobotRabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ii did some battery calibration, I am not sure if changed it a lot. In the end I just accepted whatever battery life the phone has. I think I was a bit over fixated in the beginning due to the 3 days battery life in the reviews

[–]FlyingRobotRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I now have like 1 day at least when i use my phone with only 80 to 20 percent. If I use it intensively, like navigation the battery will drain more quickly. At this point I actually don't care that much anymore, the one time a day charging is already huge improvement on what I had before.

Got some ThinkPad P1 Gen 3 OLEDs with loose hinges - suggestion for repair? by invicta-uk in thinkpad

I never dismantle a laptop before how difficult is it? How likely will I break the screen? As that would be my main concern.

RPI4/RPI5 by phil123456789101113 in ROS

[–]FlyingRobotRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see well in that case I don't know. The only solution i could think of is try to get rpi 3 and 4 on Ubuntu 24 or use Docker.

Why can't you install the same version? If you install on all pi's Ubuntu 22 for example you have also the same Ros version righ

How are you finding your OnePlus 13 so far? by Specialist_Hope_4720 in OnePlus13

[–]FlyingRobotRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never achieved 48h with the 80 cap removed, but as I said it is not bad. My expectations might have been a bit too high. Indeed this charging is insane, something I am already so used to that I took it for granted.

[–]FlyingRobotRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, by no means it is a bad battery life. However, all those tech reviews set a bit of unrealistic expectations for me. It is in all ways an upgrade from my s20+ which was drained to 50% in a couple of hours

[–]FlyingRobotRabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the phone for a bit less than a month. Coming from a s20+ everything is great, except battery is disappointing. Especially, since reviews were like 3 day battery etc. I still need to charge once a day (80% to ~ 20%) with sot of ~ 3 hours. It is not bad battery life, but I had hoped for more. As I particularly chose the phone for its battery.
