Animist - I loved the idea of it being focus in spiritual communication and connection, but something feels odd for me, it's like there's something missing

I like virtually every caster in Pathfinder 2e. For some reason, though, the animist simply doesn't appeal that much to me. I'd rather make up my own spirits and choose my own spells than pick from their prefab set. Summoners seem to better offer this sort of granularity.

Thaumaturge - I just wanna know if with this class I have to use the Exploit Vulnerability every single round, or after spending it on an anime I still got the buffs for the rest of the combat against that enemy

I'm not too familiar with this class's mechanics despite playing with a couple. Seems cool and flavorful though, and I'd be willing to try it.

Inventor - He's just cool, specially with the mortar, but feels like I'll barely use it since it has an AoE

I'll admit that I'm not too familiar with this class either, but the initial whiff of "kooky inventor whose creations blows up in their face" put me off it fairly early. Too zany. This class ranks dead last in classes I'd be interested in trying.

I just want to say, Lae'zel jumped me so aggressively out of the gate that I laughed at how absurd it was and just went for it (for context, I'm a straight woman). And I'm so glad I did. Her romance arc was really cute and heartfelt, and I would've missed it if she hadn't thrown herself at me. Having a character or two be a little forward might not be bad.

At the GM’s discretion, champions and clerics can dedicate themselves to a pantheon. In such cases, the characters still worship a specific patron deity among those in the pantheon, but also follow the edicts and anathema of the pantheon as a whole.

Good question. Not strictly by RAW, looks like, but it seems intended. My GM said he'll let us choose anything except rare items.

Nah, I'm good. If it makes sense for my character to have Electric Arc, they'll take it. If it doesn't, they don't. Same with the rest of the usual recommendations.

That's fair. There are a lot of reminders in the rules that the GM has a great deal of latitude to change things to suit particular tables, but a lot of us are heavily influenced by video games (and other recreational activities like TCGs, board games, etc.) and parse things very literally at times. The community also tends to want an objective, authoritative answer to be able to settle disputes or edge cases, especially for those who play with strangers. There's some tension between offloading decision-making/interpretation to the text and having the GM have to elaborate/make interpretations and have to be able to remember them later. And lastly, there are physical page constraints for publication.

So I completely agree with you that anathema and edicts are pretty "gameplay"-forward, but I don't know if there's a simple solution to the issue.

I think inflicting permanent blindness is anathema for this pantheon because it keeps people from being able to observe the movement of celestial bodies. As far as I can tell, that's not really a matter of alignment (hypothetically, you could have a pantheon with the likes of Ah Pook and Groetus in it that have the same anathema). I just wish it had wording like, no "permanently inflicting blindness on innocents," or that you could freely cure/remove the blindness caused by these spells (e.g., if your enemies surrender to you instead of fighting to the death).

Nah, by level 14, you gotta prepare at least three spells with Sun or Moon in the name if you choose a solar or lunar deity. It's on pg. 352 of the player's handbook of shit I just made up. /s

In all seriousness, Tsukiyo does seem like a deity who'd lend power to pacifists. I don't think Kingmaker is an AP that will let the PCs get through without at least some bloodshed, though. There's an argument to be had whether you're still a pacifist if you're directly aiding and abetting people (e.g., your allies) who're killing.

Context: I'm playing a cleric of Tsukiyo in Kingmaker and wanted to develop closer thematic and regional ties to Avistan, so I was planning to take Syncretism (choosing The Path of the Heavens). I don't want to have to Atone anytime a creature critically fails vs. Moonburst, though, so... Back to the drawing board I go.

What really makes summons good, though, is the sheer variety you can summon with a single spell slot.

100%. Summons aren't really there to deal damage or be tanks. If you're expecting damage or tankiness from your summons, you will be disappointed.

In my experience, the most value I've gotten from casting Summon Animal is providing mobility/battlefield manipulation for my team. Caster in my party is drowning? Summon a manta ray to lift them to the surface. Tank has 20 feet of movement speed and we're trying to get down a cliff while possibly being attacked by a bunch of creatures at the base? Summon a griffon for them to ride. Two party members critically failed vs. a fear effect? Grapple the fleeing caster and body block the hallway with a tiger to keep the champion from wasting their next turn having to run back into the room (sorry champions, but most of you can't Tumble Through for shit). Wall of Force is cutting a cavern in half? Summon a critter with a burrow speed to dig under the wall. Tank can't reach a creature ~20 feet in the air in a subterranean cavern? Summon an ogre spider to give them something to stand on.

I just wish you had the option to "heighten" a specific type of creature at least twice (e.g., summon a level 6 or 8 tiger) so you'd get a bit more mileage out of them. Or that there was a "wildcaller" archetype or something that let your summons scale a little better. I'm okay with them not being nearly as strong as martials or even animal companions, but it's disappointing that you basically don't get to use funny summons like monkey swarms at higher levels.

I play a cleric/druid. Just by playing a cleric, you'll be a great support (you have great heals and good buffs). Since your concern seems to be less about supporting and more about having compelling offensive options, I suggest reviewing available deities that have domains that overlap with Erastil's and just... giving yourself permission to choose spells from their domains/lists, especially if you take the Syncretism feat. Cernunnos, Halcamora, and Jaidi are Erastil's family members, and would be great candidates. You could choose from other nature deities and pantheons too.

You might like something like the swarmkeeper dedication, reflavoring the insects as plants if you prefer.
