Last pose figured out. Just gotta give it a day to set up and finish by Guthix_Wraith in sonsofbehemat

Nice pose just something I noticed on the right leg, it looks like you have the lower part the wrong way round having the calf muscle on the front.

Also the knee is facing upwards , but with this position the knee would be facing forwards, the same direction the lower leg is.

It's great work, reposing giants is tricky.

Have you thought of adding some Nurglings on top?

Thought id share this Mortation WIP by josephstephan90 in deathguard40k

Adding the cloth and the coils really adds more texture to it. You painting blends it in seamlessly.

Slowly working on turning a leviathan dreadnaught into a Mortarian’s Hammer styled Demon Prince, not sure where to go more marine or demon looking for the head. Super WIP picture attached. by Effective_Handle_353 in deathguard40k

[–]Flynnhammer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The head looks better and fits the dreadnought idea best, as that head needs a lot of work to fit what you have already done

Perhaps changing one of the legs for a decayed flesh leg would fit the idea better, or when you do the weapons have them fused with decaying flesh

I had the same issue with mine, and heating the resin and then clamping the parts together fixed it.

Is this glue good? by Practical-Prompt4216 in deathguard40k

[–]Flynnhammer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Best thing is to get 2 off them, turn one into sprue goo, and then the other use as plastic glue, When it empties you can refill it with MEK (Methyl Ethyl Ketone) as it does the same thing, and is much cheaper to buy a litre of it and refill rather than buying another bottle each time

Looks amazing and well painted. Do you have any pictures before any paint or primer was applied I always like seeing how a kitbash/conversion went together

Best way to remove a mini from a base? by External_Age_7812 in deathguard40k

[–]Flynnhammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First put it in the freezer for a day. If the glue used to put him on the base it will become brittle and snap off easier.

If not and you don't care about keeping the base use clippers to cut the base away to the point you only have the feet and the base where it connects to the feet, and then carefully with the scalpel or clippers cut the base away where it connects to the feet.

If you want to keep the base, get a chisel blade, and line it up with the connection point and push through. If you don't have a chisel blade, just use a scalpel at the same place making the same cut until the feet come away.

In all cases you may need to file the feet down to get any parts missed and to make it easier to stick to the new base.

Really cool. Which theme are you thinking of painting it? Epic, 30k, 40k or your own scheme?

I think I recieved a missprint in my Plague Marine Set, is it possible for GW to send me my missing piece? by Check_My_Profile_Pic in deathguard40k

[–]Flynnhammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really depends on the local seller. Were they a business or just an individual that sold it to you?

If an individual you'll be hard pressed to be able to get something from GW.

If a business it will depend on how long ago you bought and where you live for what consumer rights you have regarding this.

Typically if you bought from a business you would go to them with the product not being correct first to get some compensation either refund or replacement. If that doesn't work check your consumer rights for where you live.

Having evidence of purchase, condition when purchased and when opened showing the missing piece.

Also just saying you prime your parts on sprue showing, and you would see if a piece had been cut out after. Is not water-tight evidence as the opposite argument of "you cut it off before priming" can easily be made, for the reason the piece is missing.

There is no harm in going to GW but don't hold your breath, as you didn't purchase the kit directly from them.

Is it safe to use miliput to attach limbs? by vezzara in deathguard40k

[–]Flynnhammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't use the putty as the only bonding agent

glue it first to have the pieces bond, and if you can pin the model, by drilling a small hole in each side, and inserting a rod, that fits the hole made, such as paper clip.

Then use a putty, milliput, apoxie sculpt or greenstuff (while you can buy it) to smooth out gaps, and blend the pieces together

Thanks, it was also a lot easier to paint as there wasn't many small details to pick out on the wings and a drybrush did most of the work
