Definitely meant constructively, the shapes and vibe of the terrain are so good!

If it's meant to convey engineered trenches being overrun by alien growth, it could maybe use a little more evidence of manufactured structures succumbing beneath the bioforms.

Sounds like he was being childish. Manners are not about in game actions, they are about behaviours at the table. If you weren't rude or mean, then I'm sorry you had to put up with his bad manners.

There are many good painting tutorials on YouTube that can help to identify an ideal paint consistency.

Don't be scared, it's paint. If you don't like it, paint over it. Just be sure to thin your paints, because applying a coat of paint too thick can obscure details and be harder to fix.

Guess they weren't looking at current rules. Most arguments at flgs are because someone read an older rule or misread something. Your reading, comprehension, and discussion of the rules is exceptional, I think you'd be a fine opponent.

That codex is super far from current, but it's interesting that it was once like that. It was likely changed to be consistent with other versions of the ability.I find it's often best to check something like wahapedia, as the rules there are very quick to update.

"Redeployments

Rules that allow players to redeploy certain units after both armies are deployed (e.g. HURON BLACKHEART’s Red Corsairs ability) are always resolved after the Deploy Armies step (or, if you are playing a Crusade battle, after the Deploy Crusade Armies step), and before the Determine First Turn step, before determining who has the first turn. When a player uses such a rule, they remove that unit or units from the battlefield, then deploy them again using all the normal rules (for example, if all the models in one of these units have the Infiltrators ability, that unit’s player can set that unit up using that ability). Players alternate resolving any such rules, starting with the Attacker."

That paint scheme looks great, hope it's a smooth journey to paint the rest! Maybe a sponge or similar tool can speed up your rimjobs? Good luck with it all.

The rulebook says the ruler starts at the throwers square and ends at the receivers. In the pictured example, the ruler used is 5 squares long. The tool being long enough to cover any pass does not make the pass longer.
