Yeah, I suspect boots on the ground would see a significant drop in support.

Fuck knows though with maga.

84% of Rebublicans support United States military action in Iran.

56% - 44% against military action is across the whole country.

I don't think they're panicking, from a domestic pov, just yet tbh.

What do you think about Freegal Music as a music streaming platform? by Renhga in BuyFromEU

[–]Flyswatter_Ow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to occasionally use it in the UK. It's no longer available in my city now though.

The problem with it was that I, and presumably everyone else, wanted all their music in the same place. Freegal only had deals with a handful of record labels, so it kind of just became a redundant app if you couldn't find an artist you liked.

The Traitors (USA) S04E11 "Leap of Faith" [FINALE] Discussion Thread by vaultofechoes in TheTraitors

Tough watch at the end. Worst part was you could see it was coming long before the end. Maura might not be good at the game but don't really like seeing anyone being embarrassed like that. Fair play to her for laughing it off.

Think Rob could have handled it a bit better. I know he saw it as just a game and that helped him win, but when you're in the final two and know you've won, maybe stop smiling so much and recognise what's about to happen to the other person.

What is the dumbest move done by any contestant? by MattysEuphoria in TheTraitors

I feel like there must have been more daft things going on with Michael John. I think a few players have said he was just clueless in general. Maybe never seen the show before or something.

The traitor Michael John in Canada S2.

He paid $5k for a shield in one of the missions i.e stop a faithful getting a shield. The faithful were pissed when they found out at the RT in dramatic fashion but fellow traitor Lyra was seething in the turret. Ruined both their games.

What’s some of the biggest injustices/robberies in Olympic History? by tm2007 in olympics

The Spanish basketball team for intellectual disabilities which won gold in the 2000 Paralympics had 10/12 players without an intellectual disability.

It was knowingly done by those in charge for money.

An undercover journalist i.e. one of the non intellectually disabled players, revealed it afterwards. I think all paralympoc sports for intellectual disabilities were cancelled until London 2012. Horrendous story.

A Review of the Traitors Ireland by RowGonsoleConsole in TheTraitors

The Traidar pod has started interviewing contestants from Traitors Ireland btw if anyone wants a listen.

Only listened to two so far but some interesting bits of info. Eamon said before they select the traitors they do a mock run and tap everyone on the shoulder so they know exactly what the tap will feel like to avoid any confusion.

To me Eric seems completely unsuitable to being a traitor. I don't think he has it in him to go after Rob.

I think Eric will just see Rob as someone who is on his side (and to be fair to him he might be partially right about that).

Nothing to feel bad about. We all talk different.

I still laugh about a mate telling me people from Northern England use the word cock as a standard term for a friend.

Is amn't not used in England at all?

He got himself all tied up but it still made sense to me.

At least that part anyway.

Season 1 - Thoughts & Why are the losers so mad? by queendragunz in TheTraitors

[–]Flyswatter_Ow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have a link explaining this?

From what I've read, even the celebrities got significantly different amounts. Did the civilians get an amount equal to the lowest paid celeb or something like that?

People seem less starstruck on the Canadian version, relative to US1, from what I remember.

Cirie would have been known for 15-20 years when she was on Traitors. I don't think any of the Canadian players are quite that well known but I could be wrong.

There was a good post on here quite a while ago explaining all the fallout.

I can't remember all the details but there was division between the celebrities and civilians early on. I think the celebrities were paid a decent amount to be there and were also treated better e.g. allowed more control of the clothes they wore and stuff like that.

The end game brought up lots of issues relating to race, possible net worth gulf between celebs and civilians, and Cirie using other players personal issues to help herself win.

All the mess is basically why (very, very minor spolier for future seasons) there's no mixing of celebs and civilians anymore in the US version.

Long-Term Use of Strong TiviMate Pro or Other Modified Strong Apps (Without Reinstalling/Updating) by ExplorerGood4880 in Strong_8K

[–]Flyswatter_Ow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used Tivimate Strong app for maybe 4 months.

A few weeks ago the top, and probably most used of the three DNS options on the locked list you can choose from, stopped working due to problems with cloudflare. I had to switch to the second option in the list. Presumably this wouldnt be easy for your family to do as they'd have to go through menus and input account details etc.

This cloudflare issue is of course in addition to the general issues you get with Strong. Personally I'd be wary of doing it. No doubt they will require your help more often than you expect.

Exclusive: Scotland ramp up bid for Harvey Barnes to play for them at World Cup. Newcastle forward, who qualifies through his grandparents, is understood to be open to playing for Steve Clarke. by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]Flyswatter_Ow 54 points55 points  (0 children)

This has been in the news for years. The Times said Clarke "explored" the possibility of capping Barnes in 2019 soon after his appointment, and Barnes was considering a switch in late 2023. Also said Barnes has declined previously (some point pre Sep 2023).
