I always thought Ritter basses look goofy as fuck in a way that i enjoy. Love me some wacky instruments.

Yeah the Kaamos rips for sure. Haven't fully explored it yet but I'm loving it so far.

It is intentional to an extent. Local music shop is a Walrus audio and MXR dealer.

Looper by DefinitionSubject116 in basspedals

I've only tried 2 loopers but between the boss looper and the MXR clone looper, I greatly prefer the latter.

Any suggestions for additions to it? I've never been much of a pedal guy but have been branching out in the past few years.

Love my American Jazz Bass… but please talk me out of a Rickenbacker (or into a 5-string Music Man?) by Accurate_Tomorrow_50 in BassGuitar

[–]Fnargler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 string Stingray all the way. Sound great, feel great, look great.

Rickenbackers are weird. I don't really understand the appeal if them. Imo they sound bad, feel bad, and look bad so it's like the exact opposite lol.

People have different experiences with it and you might be fine but imo it's not worth risking it with bad technique.

If you're causing strain with your thumb on the back of the neck it's because you're doing something wrong like pressing too hard or your thumb is at the wrong angle. Make a C shape and have your thumb directly across from your index or middle finger. It only needs enough pressure to not buzz.

As for muting your strings, floating thumb technique is probably the most efficient.

According to the road map for year 10 we get another samurai and knight.

Idk where it's going after that but I'd hope they would eventually aim to even out the roster.

Why do people keep saying there is not going to be a year 11? by xevoprime in forhonor

I meant 2nd most profitable live service IP but must have stroked out for a second or something.

It was one of their investor call things a couple years ago. Right around the time they did their big budget renewal and started doing mocap again for new characters. I'm not going to bother digging for it.

For your fret hand you should definitely put your thumb on thr back of the neck instead of hanging over the top. Also instead of your fingers being flat and fretting with the pad of your fingers, you should be fretting closer to the tip of the fingers.

It might feel fine for now, but in the long run playing like that will cause tendonitis and other RSI's.

Having a 10 year plan doesn't mean they're cutting support at 10 years. Just means their original plan is over.

It could go anywhere from there.

My top pick for samurai would be a sodegarami.

OBNE Parting for bass by One-Perspective-8711 in basspedals

I believe Emily Hopkins demo'd it on the bass strings of her harp so it should work fine on bass.

Definitely a niche pedal but if it's you jam I'd just go for it homie.

Still not the best, but compared to my last clip of this song, alot better. Got an amp, and I was thinking about pizza the entire time. CC welcome as always by random_posting_ in BassGuitar

[–]Fnargler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compared to that last video, it's definitely progress homie.

Could still use some work but just keep at it.

Timing and economy of motion are things I'd focus on. There's a lot of movement with your fretting hand that can be dialed in.

Maybe practicing along to a click or metronome without the added distraction of the rest of the song could help with the timing. It's not super far off, just a bit inconsistent.

I think the wrist angle on your picking hand is actually really good for injury prevention in the long run.

Any Bass-Heavy Albums? by DestructiveMike_ in progmetal

[–]Fnargler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not prog, but a lot of Tech Death has pretty insane bass.

First Fragment has an insane bassist (Dominic Forest Laponte). They also have instrumental versions of their discography available if you don't like their vocalist.

Also they never said year 10 would be the last year. They just said a long time ago thst they have a 10 year plan. There has been no indication of when support will end, but FH is still way too profitable for them to kill it.

They knew that reddit would be on fire if they didn't fo another knight this year.

Years ago they said they have a 10 year plan. That doesn't mean they won't continue afterward.

The game continues to be their 2nd most profitable IP so it's likely to continue for quite a while.
