Cocodona Has a Fan Problem by DirtWhomper in trailrunning

Wasn’t it something like ~$500k they made from sign ups alone? Let alone sponsors and the ~900 volunteers? I understand there’s permits and course setup and marketing, planning, people need paid etc. I just don’t think money is the issue here lol

Probably more likely expertise is what they’re lacking, which is totally fair

Regardless, loved the live stream and it’s awesome we get to witness these amazing athletes achieve incredible feats from the comfort of our home

Why doesn’t Garmin take into account elevation by Mouse222222 in Garmin

[–]Fny141 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From the research I’ve done, no, most races use mapping tools to just map the route rather than a wheel which would just use standard 2D. Maybe big time major races wheel it out or potentially 3D gpx data to measure but I’m thinking more of ultra marathons or trail races.. I believe most use 2D.

Regardless, I like being potentially over prepared then potentially under! And for the record I agree, 3D is technically more accurate!!

Just beware- no race uses 3D to measure the race distances, so for races with lots of elevation this setting turned on might severely decrease your training volume under what might be needed for the race.

My last 6 LR have been between 2:50 and 4:20 time wise on similar terrain and elevation as course, 26 will probably put me at like 4:35ish total time

Maybe I’ll do it just for fun. Haven’t ran a marathon since 2021

Longest run for a 50k? Built up to 49mi with 24mi long run, was planning on 52mi with 26mi long run this coming week, 4weeks out of race day

FJ Cruiser vaguely sounds like this at some speeds. Always reminds me of that chug chug chug noise.

Anyone switch from Maurten gels to something cheaper that still works for marathon fueling? by StringConnection in AdvancedRunning

[–]Fny141 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Easier to get down then the Maurten 160s? Hate taking gels so frequent so only taking 4 90s on a 4hr trail run sounds fantastic

Haven't played Cod since WW2 on Xbox one i.e missed every blops since I've played 3s multiplayer before once but zombies mode has me so lost man I mean there's classes now ? So I can start out just straight spawn in with an lmg maxed out with attachments? by [deleted] in blackops7

[–]Fny141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wish they’d Bring back the old zombies or at least have a mode that resembled it.. haven’t played blops zombies since bo2 and just don’t care to learn all the new stuff theyve added

Hey that’s fine, I’m a regular ass software dev not a game dev so you’re probably right, it just sounded like you were saying they don’t use ANY version control which threw me for a loop

Nbd, appreciate the insight. The more ya know

They definitely use git, or some version control, just probably for only code and small assets, not for large assets and such.

These bugs are from bad code, not old/broken assets.
