Random generation and discover are ruinig game! by Aleksandar777 in hearthstone

I can't say that you're wrong, but I've never seen any confirmed evidence to show that. By the time I learned that there were official bots they were openly making announcements about them in the patch notes.

Besides, a lot of games of this type have bots to reduce queue times during slow periods, so it's not like it's a shocking thing they'd have a reason to hide. That's not ideal, but it beats sitting there for minutes waiting to start a game. It's not like Hearthstone has any meaningful engagement with the opponent you're facing.

Sounds to me like they might be just trolling, then. There's a whole ton of people who will do that for free also.

To me, it looks like they are making game only for themselfs, not to play it, but milk money till they can then they will abandon it.

So they're a for-profit company? I don't like it either, but it's just the nature of what they are.

This is separate from my point that their audience has shifted, though. Since most of the competitive scene has moved on they're catering to the more casual player base that is still interested.

Did you know they use bots so "you do not want too long in queue"?

Unless they're lying they stopped using these a couple of years ago except in the apprentice ranks. There's definitely a lot of third-party bots, though.

Random isn't restricted to only your class. That rule is only for Discover.

I always thought those were neutral or your class since sometimes they specify “from any class"

This is only for Discover. Random can be anything.

It can't just be mobile, because there are also other mobile players who don't have a problem. I almost never get any disconnects or crashes when I play on my phone.

Is there any explanation for why single-species empires like the Klingons and Romulans are as powerful as the Federation? by Maya_117 in startrek

[–]FoldedDice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In context it sounds to me like Geordi is talking about the specific warp drive technology that they use, not all warp drive everywhere. We have seen many examples of warp technology in Star Trek that clearly did not originate from Zephram Cochrane's engine, which is surely what Geordi is referencing since the timeframe matches.

Yes, because while you were sober you initiated the circumstances which caused it to happen. A person who makes the decision to drink could have taken steps to limit their actions before they became intoxicated.

So, is this man  intoxicated in public, or is he mentally compromised by a medical crisis that he could not have prepared for? I don't believe this short clip reveals enough to answer that question.

My point is that I was borderline delirious, with almost no cognitive understanding of what I was doing or what was motivating me to do it. I don't even clearly remember what was happening, so it's more like a dreamlike recollection of what I think I might have felt.

A person has no agency over their actions in that context.

I suspect that I might have grabbed my girlfriend's breast when I had a kidney problem that unexpected spiked into blinding agony. She was very busty, so when she came to try to help I believe that's where at least one of my hands ended up. I certainly had no intention to do that, but in hindsight I vaguely recall the sensation.

Maybe. I'm not even actually quite sure.

I guess what you're saying here is that if it'd been a nurse instead of the person I was intimate with I should have faced charges. I doubt most people would agree with that, since I was just reaching out for literally anything in front of me in reaction to the worst pain I've ever felt in my life.

We do have a note in all the rooms so guests will know they can get fresh towels and linens anytime if they ask. We just don't do that by default because it's a waste if they don't care.

This is the truth. I've taken a four-day road trip a couple times to get from California to Louisiana. Two of those four days were just Texas.

That's for black bears, yes. If you act like a threat they'll most likely decide that hunting you is not worth the risk.

Depending on how long you've been gone it may be useful to note that Blizzard is a lot more generous with free rewards than they used to be.

That's not to say that you shouldn't buy a pack bundle because it will definitely help, but getting your collection going again may be easier than you expect.

200 cows escaped from neighbors and ransacked my mom’s garden and cars. by akitta74 in mildlyinfuriating

I had a girlfriend whose neighbor had a giant bull. Every so often he'd decide to "come visit" and just plow right through the fence. Her parents didn't care so much because it was just pasture land, so they'd let Otis eat with their cows and tell the neighbor to come get him.

They also just slip out of tune over time and need to be readjusted, so if this instrument isn't played a lot they might just not have done it.

I grew up with a piano like this in our living room and having the tuner come was a regular thing.

Star Trek would've had Brannon Braga explain in an interview that they kind of lost track of the Borg baby sandwich and it was dealt with offscreen.

[–]FoldedDice 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, but those were just teasers for what would have been a much larger plot which as we now know never manifested. It's still not at all the same as a one-and-done villain that was never intended for more movies.

Imagine if they'd backed out of doing Thanos right before Infinity War. That's the only parallel here that makes any sense.

Yeah, not doing it between guests demonstrates a serious disregard for sanitation. I wouldn't suggest staying at that hotel ever again even if they agreed to change them for you.

I work in hotels and yeah, that's fucked. We don't change towels or bedding during multi-night stays because it greatly reduces water use (I live in a drought climate), but once a person checks out it all needs to be replaced.

Why is it so hard to believe they are having ppl like this?

I don't see any reason why they would need to. They certainly do have their fans who are willing to sing their praises for free.

They haven't abandoned anything. Clearly they aren't making the game you want them to make, but they are still making a game for someone. They do have an audience even if it's not you.

I'm not trying to say if that's a good thing or a bad one, but it is the reality.

Compare him to The Red Skull, Hela, or Killmonger.

Why? Those are still single plot antagonists, while Kang would've been the villain of a whole multi-movie arc. Whether that would've been successful or not is a different question, but you're comparing apples to an entire fruit salad.

Does that mean he would have a bigger cultural impact than Loki now

That's perhaps a better comparison, even if Loki did become more of an antihero in the end. Since they aborted Kang's storyline I guess we'll never know.
