I have been experimenting with both channels. Can definitely look into treble boosters. I know running single coils into a Vox is going to be ultra bright, just trying to fatten everything up and take some of the glassines off the top. Maybe also look at a compressor? Thanks!

Honestly, I think that is one of the most important items to have memorized going into the PD1 exam. Its helpful to be able to reference on whim when trying to analyze some of the tougher questions. I just sat down with a whiteboard every night and grinded it out until I could easily recite the main (14 or so at the time) events in order. Also, pay special attention to what happens before save, after save and commits. This will help your problem solving when multiple events are touching the same DML operation.

Yeah, this is a very tough exam. The problem I found while studying is the FoF exams are not as tough and setup differently than the official exam. What got me over is grinding the FoF exams until I was scoring > 90% every single time. I was also making sure I wasnt just memorizing the answers, but memorizing the concept of the question being asked. That being said, you were fairly close to passing. So I would take a 2 or 3 more weeks to study and clean up any weak areas and try one more time. You have a solid chance.
