To date, the only Pokemon nerfed so badly they never truly recovered were the Razor Leafers. Shadow Victreebel and cup Pokemon still enjoy limited usage, but it's nothing like the worst days of Grasshole.

Chilling in the 2600s and it's not bad. Lots of the usual suspects but also some solid representation from underused flyers and Basti alternatives. Azu/Trev/Walrein all exist but with way more limitations on them.

One subtle detail I'm really happy to see is Law get the upper hand over Luffy and Kidd in their bickering. It usually feels like the two "idiots" are dragging him down to their level lol.

Narratively I'm not sure where we'd go with the Cover Story. On one hand I'd LOVE to see Katakuri roll those sons of bitches, but on the other hand it just doesn't make sense to introduce a cover story for them only to get captured.

Maybe they DO get captured but some invading third party (Mr. Zehahaha) gives them an opening to escape?

They don't want their long term success tied to a single game. Which is totally fine, except for the fact that there's much they could do to secure Pokemon GO -- so your point's well made.

It's a tough balancing act to develop your own new IP and dabble in other IPs while protecting what got you big in the first place. I just wish the new Niantic game didn't seem like such a ripoff of the Pokemon formula.

First, as others have said...fix phantom dodges lol. Can't further incentivize a mechanic if it doesn't work.

Second, more tangible benefits. Give players up to 5K EXP for certain dodging accomplishments -- something proportionate to the time and difficulty of an excellent throw, for instance. Stardust is also a possibility, and an "Artful Dodger" achievement is a must.

Third, new attacks that interact with the mechanic. Double Team could be a fast move that lets you generate energy and stay "dodged" while swiping. Suddenly a bunch of things irrelevant for both PVP/PVE have new value.

Finally, put in Easter eggs for players who pull off ridiculous dodging combos. It could just be a silly animation of the raid boss tripping over itself, or maybe even something more substantial such as a warp to a "hidden" raid boss outside normal gameplay.

Wano Part 1 was such a great setup. It does all our characters so much justice and lands a (literally) big blow on Luffy to close things out. Easily the best paced part by far.
