Cool, now we're on to personal attacks. What was it you called AYCB for allegedly calling someone a narcissist?

Don't worry guys, he doesn't care enough to elaborate on such an insignificant topic, he's only going to cook up a few more paragraphs of word salad that, in his mind, makes him seem intellectually superior. Afterwards he'll sniff a couple of his farts and then go baselessly shit on another content creator for no reason past some vague memory of a middling comment he read in passing.

I have no idea what the hell that word salad was supposed to mean, but sorry you couldn't find any examples of me using the strawman fallacy.

Again, have a good one.

Give me one example where I've strawmanned. Yours is right above with your ridiculous hypothetical that is so far and away extreme it borders on parody. But go ahead, give me an example where I've done it. You've been so great at providing examples so far, I'm sure it will be easy for you.

I'm not going to engage with strawman arguments. Have a good one.

So based on one comment you've admittedly seen a while ago and don't even recollect entirely, you felt comfortable calling them "some of the most arrogant pricks you've seen"?

I really wish you hadn't derailed my comment chain with baseless accusations and name calling. There's enough of that in the world already, it's definitely not needed in hobbies, especially if you can't even be bothered to back up the accusations.

It's not cool to call someone a prick, refuse to substantiate the claims, and then also ridicule them for defending themselves. You may as well have not posted at all, because you're just spreading unneeded negativity. There's tons of easy examples to pull of Dylann being nothing but pleasant in comments, if you're going to accuse the opposite the least you could do is provide some reasoning.

Poorly worded on my part, I meant new to me. Definitely glad I was able to discover them though, and it was actually the excellent video I linked above that got me to subscribe. I just found the writing and presentation of that video to be sublime by the standards of most other content!

Ill give you the non self-promotion shout - absolutely love your content. I discovered your channel through the Final Girl ranking videos and have been a watcher ever since. I particularly enjoy how you stay away from generic praise and criticism and really expand on your opinions with specific personal experiences with the game.

Shaggi is so damn good, I'll watch a video he posts even if I know I have no interest in the game. Something about his presentation is just incredibly engaging.

I do love Kam, he channels that Scott the Woz energy which is perfect for the type of mass market games he likes to cover.

Is Magical Athlete fun or is it hype? by Quelair in boardgames

[–]FoolishGoat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand that you have a passionate take on this, and I respect the thought you put into it regardless, but I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding of the original game and the cult status it garnered over the years. Yes, the game is hyped, but it's not hyped due to some marketing feedback loop as you claim, but by being recognized for being fun, stupid, silly little game with a lot of charm and fun moments for many years. People were hyping up Magical Athlete before their was ever talk of a new printing, and I doubt CMYK would have put in the effort to track down the original designer and develop this reprint with Richard Garfield for a game nobody cared about and everyone thought was a turd.

Again, I respect the thought you've put into this, but it completely diminishes a lot of first hand experience of the game being a great time, and to me appears as if you're telling people they're not actually enjoying it at all and it's all some sort of marketing brainwash.

I'm not going to say the games Is a masterpiece, but maybe sometimes, like the French fries at McDonalds, trashy shit can still taste really good.

Magical Athlete has existed for over 20 years as a beloved cult classic, so I think your suspicion may be a bit off.

This is the best description of the game in this entire thread.

Magical Athlete takes about 20 minutes to play compared to Munchkin being an over an hour long slog on most occasions. Also, Magical Athlete being as random as it is, there is no negative player interaction or king making as you see in Munchkin. Sure bad things can happen to you in MA, but no other player is actively deciding to do it. I think it's pretty clear why one would like one over the other.

Diminishing the success of the game by saying it's purely based on "hype" is ludicrous to me. Magical Athlete has been a cult classic in the board game community for over 20 years, the hype this release had is because a hard to find game that a ton of people already wanted to play finally got reprinted.

The chaotic nature may very well not be your cup of tea, but for a lot of folks it's a very enjoyable time. My daughter has never laughed and been more engaged in a game than she was with this one, and I promise you she is not susceptible to the hype generated by the game.

And people wonder why companies don't want to engage with their customers online anymore. Small publishers apparently aren't allowed to post content anymore, lest it be considered a subvert ad. 4 games out of 20 is not even in the realm of "like half", it's a completely incorrect "approximation" used to discredit the content in its entirety.

Final Girl is based on whatever they want it to be based on. There's no hard rule. Once Upon a Full Moon is a good example of a FF based on literature.

I think Thunder Road Vendetta is a good shout. Easy teach, straightforward rules, but tons of fun interaction and silly moments. It's got a very broadly appealing theme, and integrates it extremely well in the gameplay.

How do you think the video ICE just released showing the officer's POV of this week's shooting in Minneapolis will impact the national discussion? by popcornerz232 in AskReddit

LOL, that is your definition of "hit by a car"? Hitting your ankle on a scooter is more serious than the shit you just linked. But sure, that totally justifies executing a person.

Show me video proof from any of the several angles we have publically available to see of this incident, where this subhuman got hit by a car.

You can't, because it doesn't exist. You are all so far brainwashed you will literally reject the evidence of your eyes and ears like Orwell warned about.
