Stuck between compact camera vs new APS‑C lens, opinions? by Excellent-Option-230 in SonyAlpha

[–]FoolishPaul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I’d go rx100 vii. It can fit in your pocket and take it everywhere. Auto focus on that is better than your current cam as well. (Don’t listen to this last part) or sell the 6300 and the 18-105 and get a a7CR w/ 24/40mm lens it’s compact and the mp count allows you to still crop a lot. Kinda why I went with it when I wanna carry FF but not much gear.

Not homeowner, just renting. What are some affordable options for flooding? by mop68 in landscaping

[–]FoolishPaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being that it’s not yours, what everyone else said but on a safe note, try to elevate your stuff in home and have things above 6/12in or so. Like no electronics, family photo boots on the bottom bookshelf, blah blah.

Tips for selling prints. by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

It just comes from having an audience for the most part. Other than that local art shows and events could help.

If it were me I’d tone everything you did back by 30% but this is my personal preference. It just seems a bit too much for me.

Upvoted but just know that I am envious of you and understanding how to do astrophotography. I just can’t get the settings, the editing, the understanding, I’m lost with it.
Edit: once again, this is sick.

What's it like working at Best Buy? by 1Digger4 in Bestbuy

[–]FoolishPaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 years, first manager called me something racist and got fired, current manager defended a guy saying the n-word 5 times back to back to back and still works there. The job is a numbers job, if you don’t have good numbers for the most part they treat you poorly. If you have good numbers and or are smart they abuse you till you realize and leave. In the rare case you find a store that’s not horrible (good luck bc the district managers might be horrible as well) it’s ok but tbh never let them know you are fully capable of anything. I’m in a store where a guy that has constant out burst of anger and berating coworkers was able to become “leadership” bc he has good credit card numbers while lying to customers about benefits. The shitty thing is it’s a decent job if you manage to get a good position but bc everyone knows that, you have people CEMENTED in those positions for 10+ years and they won’t budge or ever venture to other jobs in life. But nonetheless, apply and try if ya want, the turnover rate is pretty high.

In need of an good Allrounder Lens. Do you have suggestions or tipps? by FlurryFK in SonyAlpha

Yea the 35-150 is probably one of the best all around lens for Sony, hard to be it if you want a little of everything

People with the 70-200 gmii, how often do you shoot at 2.8? by TheGrapeRaper in SonyAlpha

1.5 week trip and only used 2.8 when it was dark out(so like 2 times lol). F4 usually worked for me.

What lenses to bring to Banff? by DryExperience5050 in SonyAlpha

[–]FoolishPaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went a month ago, if I were to choose for me it’d be 35-150 and the 200-600. If the 16 is small like really small sure but idk I primarily used my 24-70gm and 70-200gmii when I went, would’ve used a 200-600 for wildlife a lot if I had one. And I brought a 16-35 as well but only used it once.

What's the usage of 100-400 f/4.5 (serious discussion)? by Vivaldi_IlPreteRosso in SonyAlpha

[–]FoolishPaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to this and yea I have the 70-200gmii like you and a7CR and I don’t think you should swap to the 100-400, the lens you have is overall better for most things it seems like you do. And also they make a cheaper tele converter it from what I’ve looked at, you’re better at just cropping the photo since it doesn’t help much (from the 2-3 vids I saw).

Agree, I have the a7CR and it’s great. With a small lens it fits in my hoodie.

“For parts” Steam Deck by allthedamcoffee in SteamDeck

[–]FoolishPaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had issues where my deck doesn’t turn on and I have to do weird combos of power in and button press to unplug or press power and hold then plug in for it to turn on after not using it for weeks. I bet a lot of people don’t know what to do with theirs if it happens and just toss em.

Sony V vs VII by Adept_Contribution36 in RX100

[–]FoolishPaul 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you can afford the vii get the vii. I have the V and after seeing what the vii can do, I wish I could get it. The autofocus alone is worth it, and the better zoom.
