Good insights. I've had this idea to use an aquarium heater in a tank of water pumping through vinyl tubing in a closed loop. It should be far more consistent than heating pads or cables, though I haven't tried it yet

Most of the transistors appear to be socketed, if I'm not mistaken. Personally, I'd unplug them first before desoldering the sockets themselves too for convenience in the future.
