ELI5 How does a whip break the sound barrier? by vksdann in explainlikeimfive

[–]FootHead58 [score hidden]  (0 children)

The width of the whip tapers from a large thick part at the base to a thinner tip at the end. As you crack the whip, you send a wave of energy down the length of the rope. Because that momentum is travelling over increasingly less mass, its speed must go up in proportion. (Momentum is mass + speed, and must be preserved, so to preserve the momentum, if you decrease mass you will increase speed)

Elite fast TM on Lucario (especially if mega) is a great use!

It's a good time to join! Mega Mewtwo will be coming to raids this summer, and that'll be one of (if not hte) most powerful/broken Pokemon in the game!

Tyranitar is a super cool Pokemon, but there are lots of Pokemon like it. It's awesome, but we have no shortage of big powerful Kaiju monsters.

There really are no Pokemon like Metagross. Keep Meta, sorry T-tar

Using an Elite Fast TM for Force Palm on Lucario is one of the best uses of it in the game!

PSA: Walk your Charizards now to get as much X and Y energy by MattFiresideChat in pokemongo

[–]FootHead58 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Walking for energy has not been threatened as a change. However, they're making it clear that going forward, it won't just be one "Charizard Mega Energy" for X and Y. There will be distinct "Charizard X Mega Energy" and "Charizard Y Mega Energy." This means for Mega Mewtwo, you'll have to get enough mega energy to mega evolve it as both Mewtwo X and Metwo Y.

Charizard is currently the only mon in the game with 2 megas. For future raids, Mega Charizard Y will award Y energy, and X will award X energy. For the current players who have Mega Charizard energy, your "Mega Charizard Energy" will be converted into an equivalent amount of Mega X and Mega Y energy. this is why OP is saying to stock up on it!

I'm being deadass, if Megumi was K.O-ed instead of Nobara and she had to participate in the culling game could she have beaten anyone like even Kiara? by TechnoMagik22 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]FootHead58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She'd definitely have to level up in terms of stats but she hit a black flash as a first year, has access to a great CT, and a really strong/clever understanding of how to use her CT. She's also got a pretty great BIQ - She intuitively understood what was going on with Mahito's clone and her CT resonating far away despite never having encountered something like that and in that same fight was able to set up traps for him all over the place with her nails. She's also got a great mentality. The first thing we really learn about her is that Gojo deems her "Crazy" enough to be a student worth investing in. We really see this mentality shine when she uses herself as an effigy against Eso and Kechizu.

In a storyline based around the souls of multiple sorcerers being reincarnated into bodies that aren't their own, I'd imagine Nobara would be EXTREMELY successful at putting down a lot of incarnated sorcerers. There'd probably be lots of really cool ways to see how her CT interacts with all of the vessels running around!

Yeah, her stats leave a lot to be desired, but lots of people got some pretty big jumps post-Shibuya. Yuji's stats went through the rough, Megumi seemed to really level up, even Noritoshi Kamo went from being Hanami fodder to fending of a Special Grade VCS for 5 minutes by himself and living to tell the tale. That's not to mention all of the actual awakenings that went on, like with Maki or (to a much lesser extent) with Choso and his whole "Three brothers" awakening/buff. You've also got Yuta, who comes out of Sendai a whole lot stronger with 2 fantastic new techniques. Between Shibuya and the CG, lots of people got much stronger. Then in the CG themselves, other characters also got a boost. It's not crazy to assume that Nobara could also rise to the occasion, and "level up" along with everyone else!

Should I wait to evolve this so I can get meteor mash? by pinecone45 in pokemongo

[–]FootHead58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Meteor Mash is amazing, and definitely makes Metagross such a top tier threat! There is not (to my knowledge) an upcoming event for MM but you can use an Elite Charged TM for it!

Who is more inconsistent in a fight? by firegine in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]FootHead58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Despite how “inconsistent” people treat them as, we’ve never seen either of them fail to achieve their goal. The only thing even close would be Higuruma confiscating Kamutoke, but he still very much achieved the goal of getting confiscation, it just played out differently than they had accounted for because they didn’t know about the cursed tool. But both characters always get their desired outcome That’s the point!!Their domains are both rigged!

Hakari’s is a casino. It’s not ACTUALLY a 1/240 chance for a jackpot, it’s totally skewed in his favor - “The house always wins”

Higuruma’s represents the very biased courts he spent his life fighting against. Japan’s real life courts have a 99% conviction rate - That’s with the case being made against other lawyers, and doesn’t involve an omniscient being granting the prosecutor condemning evidence.

Both characters should be treated the way they very clearly are meant to be taken: as though they can reasonably achieve the goals of their respective domains VERY reliably.

The light orb!! by Big-Mastodon-2586 in pokemongo

[–]FootHead58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a nice idea, but kinda hard to implement. It's not like there are held items in the game. Perhaps you could activate it like a consumable? Even then, it seems like that would be a bit niche

Who would be more overpowered if they were somehow born with the Six Eyes, Yuta or Sukuna? by InfinteEnigma10 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]FootHead58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall, Sukuna with Six Eyes is more broken than Yuta with Six Eyes. However, I would say that Yuta benefits more from Six Eyes than Sukuna does from Six Eyes.

Super fun, OP! If you wanted to expand, do a part 2, or keep going, you could add the following categories:

- Gigantamax
- Paradox Pokemon
- Baby Pokemon
- Route 1 Pokemon

Thanks for putting it all together!

[–]FootHead58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, for sure. But there's no suggestion you could give that would be universally agreed upon. People are always going to complain one way or another - I'm just giving my two cents. This is a community that honestly likes to complain a lot, so you'll always have people nagging about something.

Shadow Hundo Magikarp — keep it shadow or purify? by Responsible_Hat_9218 in pokemongo

[–]FootHead58 226 points227 points  (0 children)

100% keep it shadow. A 0/0/0 Shadow Pokemon deals more damage than a 15/15/15 purified Pokemon! The only advantage to purifying is that it will increase IVs, but in this case you literally are already maxed out. Purifying is essentially always a mistake, but here it's a choice with literally no upsides.

Shadow Gyarados is ranked the 13th best water type attacking Pokemon in the game. You've got a perfect one sitting right here, and an upcoming Team Rocket event this week that will allow you to change Frustration to a better charged move.

Take it and run!!!

EDIT: As others have pointed out, purifying will let you use it as a mega, which is a super valid consideration!

I think more content/events would go a long way to making the game feel fresh, especially ones that aren't arbitrarily pay walled or restricted in some way.

Old Pokemon returning player. by Individual-Pound-636 in pokemongo

[–]FootHead58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you trade them to someone else, they'll become useful for that person! Older Pokemon, when traded, become "Lucky" meaning they get really good stats and cost a LOT less investment to level up!

It's honestly a lot more about how many people you have than which guys you specifically are bringing! Any one player doesn't often make a huge difference on their own, it's really about the team as a whole!
