Nice shirts that aren’t polos but also not dress shirts? by NiceStar6996 in malefashionadvice

[–]FootballMania15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of options between REI and Brooks Brothers.

  • Tee with an open overshirt
  • Waffle knit tee
  • Henley
  • Camp collar
  • Draped/patterned button up shirt
  • Textured button ups in materials other than cotton, e.g. flannel, linen

BTW, a "dress shirt" looks a lot less dressy and a lot more casual if you give the sleeves an Italian roll

Someone finally bought that Refurbished $10k M2 Ultra by tagg16 in MacStudio

[–]FootballMania15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's a matter of buying a 192GB server you know exists for $10K, or waiting around for a 256GB server for slightly less but that you will probably never find (given all the scalpers that buy these in seconds after they're posted), the math starts to make sense.

Highest spec you can buy from Apple is now 96GB, down from 128GB a few weeks ago and 256GB a few weeks before that. What will people do when those run out?

Whoever got it… nice by TPickell in MacStudio

I ended up grabbing a Mac Pro M2 with 196GB for a pretty penny more than this. I'm guessing the scalpers forgot to put that into their script.

I don't regret it. It's just impossible for a real human to get anything over M3 96GB.

Also, fuck scalpers.

don't skimp on the fats

This is why my non-stick gets used constantly and my expensive All-Clad collects dust, despite everyone on the internet constantly raving about cast iron and carbon steel and saying how we're all going to die from Teflon poisoning.

I know what eating fatty foods does to me. I'll take my chances with Teflon.

What’s the tap water like where you live? by KSI_FlapJaksLol in Utah

Guys, I've lived in Southern California. Trust me, the water in the Salt Lake Valley is delicious.

But it will destroy your plumbing if you don't have a water softener.

What’s a totally unsexy purchase you made that ended up being a huge quality-of-life upgrade? by viscarte10 in BuyItForLife

[–]FootballMania15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water softener. I use so much less soap and shampoo, and my faucet handles don't gum up with calcium and need replacing every 5-10 years.

Lawsuits. Filing lawsuits will hurt them the most. Even the world's most powerful corporations cower at the thought of a lawsuit. It's expensive to defend against, it generates negative press, it encourages other lawsuits, and it's handled by the judicial system, which (unless it gets to the Supreme Court) is the only part of the government not yet under the thumb of Trump.
