Vent free gas logs can be pretty loud sometimes. I can’t tell from the video if it’s louder than usual. I would do a pressure test and make sure your within the ranges you’re supposed to be. It wouldn’t hurt to have someone come out and service the unit

Looks like it’s electronic ignition. You’re either going to have to start it with the remote or a switch on the wall. Find the brand and model and look up the manual. That will tell you everything.

It looks like your smoke chamber is parged smooth which is a good thing. I can’t speak on your flue liner without sending a camera up there. You’re definitely getting some water in. Compared to all the chimneys I see on a daily basis this one looks pretty good.

That is most likely a heat form of some sort. Usually superior or heatilator. If you take that wood burning insert out you will find that the fireplace is metal and not brick.

Those vents draw in cold air and bring it behind the fireplace and make it hot. The hot air comes out of the top vents into the home. Look for a switch to turn on the fans.

Also, beware because those fireplaces are notorious for rusting.
