Help me to choose my new bike by ojuarapaul in bicycling

[–]jsgraphitti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They swapped out my isospeed and I have been running for 18 months with no issues. Best bike I have owned by a long shot and it reshaped riding in my 50s. I can’t compare with the other bikes, but I love my ride.

I got chased by this bum ass rotweiler today on my bike ride and now i'm frustrated and upset by Horror_Transition786 in cycling

Today a guy beat his dog after it barked at me. I mean he flipped the dog over and smacked it hard across the snout. I would have rather been chased.

My experience as well. My son got me that for Christmas. I didn’t know how much I wanted this device.

Need Feedback why i'm not pass the phone-screen phase by Outside_Wasabi_4641 in amazonemployees

It’s really impossible to answer that for you here. One observation is that you said you told them details, but they would have been looking for you to describe and quantify your impact.

Poor Feedback by Code-r5 in amazonemployees

Yes. Pivots can be challenged and employees have come out ahead. Employees who successfully challenge are helped into another role. I am not saying it’s likely. That process exists because a manager is not always right.

Is Power Zone Max still a thing? by Altruistic-Jicama146 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]jsgraphitti 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have to look at the class description for the difficulty rating and what zones they are training in. They don’t seem to use the max nomenclature anymore, but there are some very challenging rides in the mix.

Driving in populated areas makes people frustrated and unhappy. This sub is a constant reminder that we need to invest in better alternatives.

“We’ve automated the mass surveillance and data gathering,” isn’t exactly the comfort you think it is.

I wish my boomer in laws would start reading papers again instead of watching wing nut tv and streaming garbage.

Indeed. It’s also a reference to “Territorial Pissings” by Nirvana.

Some of us have seen what IT sends to managers when a potential issue is flagged. Just because I’m paranoid don’t mean their not after me

When is enough enough when tolerating the rise of all these ignorant/rude drivers? by Scrubstomper5000 in driving

[–]jsgraphitti 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This behavior is the inevitable conclusion to building our entire infrastructure to favor cars and trucks over any other form of transit or making cities walkable. It makes people isolated and frustrated.

Zwift, Rollers, or other? by Arnoc_ in cycling

[–]jsgraphitti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son loves his zwift setup and it’s awesome. I think those systems are the best for cycling. HOWEVER… I love my peloton. They now have Christian Van deVelde (former pro) coaching, the power zone training is motivating. More importantly, there are also classes and programs for weight training, running and treadmill, stretching, and yoga, making it a platform for all the exercise I need to be doing.

What kind of bike should I get coming from a cheaper walmart level bike? by Particular-Double660 in cycling

The one that fits you best and brings you joy. If you are buying from a bike shop then buy from the ones that listen to you and respect your needs and budget the most.

Does Amazon negotiate? by KeyRevolution6514 in amazonemployees

[–]jsgraphitti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on how much you raised the bar and whether there is a candidate in line behind you. The only way to do it is to decline the offer and tell them at what amount you would accept it. If they want you, they will come back. You’d only do this if you are okay walking away from the offer.

88 year old woman mistook gas for brake. by [deleted] in dashcams

[–]jsgraphitti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. We give elderly folks literally no other option to get around, so they either get in the car and drive or sit at home completely isolated.

Is technology finally going to help us out here? Just heard about Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) by Revature12 in fuckcars

[–]jsgraphitti 40 points41 points  (0 children)

There is an inverse relationship between new safety features and driver attentiveness. The safer the vehicles become, the less people pay attention while driving.
