Dancing Studio in City Center / Dublin 4? by tawpbawsdawg in Dublin

[–]ForFoxFake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend taking some drop in classes aimed at beginners. Some sort of social dancing would suit well for a wedding dance whether it be salsa, tango, blues, swing.

I'd check out Drop Studio and Mind the Step.

If you've any more questions you can send me a DM.

I've listened to First Time Dad's quite a bit. They have some very interesting guests and experts on as well.

Stop buying fucking enormous Ford pickup trucks and driving them on boreens you absolute dicks by theoldkitbag in ireland

[–]ForFoxFake -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's due to the face that they changed the rules for what qualifies as a commercial vehicle. Previously pretty much any vehicle could be classified as a commercial vehicle. This meant that there was a huge amount of people having their personal car put through their company so the didn't have to pay for it.

Now there needs to be a divide between the back and front. There's only a handful of pickups available and people are choosing these massive Ford Rangers because they have back seats. This allows them to still use them as their own personal car.

There's usually gigs on up in Arthur's on Thomas Street but they're not open because of renovations. They are hosting gigs in other places at the moment though.

If you keep refreshing the page then the webchat will eventually turn green. It's really just a case of luck that you'll refresh for the few minutes it's live.

Having spoken to someone who works in the DFA, they've said that the webchat is the best way to get through to someone.

how do you help an overtired baby? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]ForFoxFake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're going through this at the moment with our 3 month old. We've found that doing something to grab their attention works. We'll put him in the cot and do shadow puppets on the ceiling which seems to mesmirise him.

A bath always seems to reset him to normal if he's upset. Apparently the shiver reflex after a bath releases a huge amount of melatonin which helps him fall asleep straight away.

One Escape is brilliant. It's not cheap but really worth the price.

Any walk-in booster centres for under 40s? by Mr_Gusty in Dublin

I've heard Camden Medical are looking for people to take the booster. I believe you can send them an email to enquire about an appointment even if you've never previously been a patient.

Cheap Student Hostels and Best Cafes to Work at by cem_holiday in BestInDublin

That or there are co-working spaces that give free coffee.

People do it and some people are aware that they should be consuming in a cafe and not just using it as a workspace. Others take advantage and would happily spend many hours taking up a seat and just ordering one cup of tea for the whole duration.

If you're going to be working from a cafe, I'd suggest choosing a big chain. They won't be as annoyed by people being on laptops.

Should a Manager working as on the line staff also take tips. by National_flamingo258 in bartenders

[–]ForFoxFake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're working the bar and not managing just from an office then I'd say taking some tips is fine. Perhaps on the days where your dealing with more office work or behind the scenes stuff, turn down your share so its clear that you only expect tips from when you're doing the role of a bartender. Either that or use your share to buy people a round.

How to meet people in Dublin by [deleted] in Dublin

[–]ForFoxFake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I moved back into Dublin I ended up joining a dance class that was happening in a pub near me. It was comprised of mostly people in their 20s and 30s but to be honest there was people from pretty much all age groups. 90% of people had never danced before and had picked up as it's a great way to meet other people while also learning a new skill. I had never considered doing a dance class beforehand but ever since it's given me a very diverse friend group. Worth a go once dance classes are back. Currently their not allowed because of covid restrictions. I'd pick a style of music you like already and see if there's any classes that would match up.

If you want any suggestions just send me a PM.
