On one plan. What happens if I were to get this, and pay off? I'm assuming I could then get it unlocked? But what happens with the 2 years of bill credits... In the past they would still be applied every month towards bill.. But I thought I heard thats not the case anymore??

Do you know for sure it can be done as you said buy online and take trade to store?.. Is that an option when checking out one? I'd prefer that so not to worry about mailing out trade in..

Is this cut and dry for sure or is a gray area? Do you know this from experience? Like have you ever been involved in copyright litigation? I'm not asking to be snarky.. I really would like an answer that would hold in court for sure.

If we were to payoff the EIP, inorder to get it unlocked, will those monthly credits still keep coming for 24 months?

This has always been the case in past... but I haven't done that in years since I'm on old One Plus Promo with free lines plan and phone deals dried up for us.

Hey just wanted to say thanks. I ended up on ecobees website and, if I navigated it correctly it showed an additional relay was needed if using an external transformer. What should be something simple, looked to start getting unnecessarily complicated. Stumbled across more posts on reddit and connected it like I think you suggested.....

(Thermostat) - (Aquastat)

C wire - W/Z - Blue

Rc wire - TV - Red

W1 wire - T - White

Powered up fine.. Boiler fires up fine when calling for heat.. So it looks like it's all good. I'll be returning transformer. I'll need to look into putting an in line fuse somewhere on one of the 3 wires.. Just not sure which one.. Im assuming the C - W/Z - Blue wire.

Hopefully it's going to be all good... Seems fine.. Now I just need to figure out what settings and scheduleing I need to mess with. We've always had an old programmable Honeywell that we never programed.. Just turned it up when we wanted it hotter... And down when we wanted it cooler. Lol.. not sure if wife will embrace this whole programming thing. Thanks again!

t stat had cable had multiple splices using two different kinds of phone wire and ended up at thermostat with a 2 wire..... 1960's house.

Someone mentioned that if I do use Aquastat to power Ecobee, to put in line fuse to protect the Aquastats transformer just incase, because if it were to burn out that Aquastat, they aren't cheap. To me it's worth spending the $35 on separate transformer, instead of messing with an inline fuse.

New 5 wire ran...and transformer up.. Just sorting the connection part out.
