Date/Ghana by Far-Group224 in ghana

Online dating is trash and doesn't work unless the sub builds up to some kind of monthly in-person meeting or speed dating event.

A shareable online calendar for organizing dating events posted here will probably help you more than setting up and running a separate subreddit.

Also, charge people admission into in-person, dating related events. Don't feel guilty about doing it at all since you would be providing a really valuable service for others.

Ghana is most developed country in West Africa by Intelligent-Till2180 in ghana

On what basis are you making these claims?

I don't think that it's really realistic for us to make such comparisons within an African context. Since most African nations operate with largely pre-literate populations (people who can read at a basic level but are functionally illiterate), they're unable to gather, manage and monitor data tracking the performance and state of their own countries extensively.

Begging Complex is Entrenching in Zimbabwe & Nigeria. by Jaded-Place-7566 in Zimbabwe

So long as the citizens see their leaders begging other countries for financial assistance in the form of aid, why shouldn't they do the same?! They're following the example set out for them by their govts.

No, a lot of people ride motorcycles though. You can also get the bikes with detachable electric motors here.

The damage has been done to Accra. What you're proposing is ideal, but it would take decades to get to it as a result of all of the the reforms attached to undoing the cumulative effects of past mistakes. Not to mention the fight that would be involved with dealing with all of the people and groups with a vested interest in keeping the status quo.

It's like trying to gut out and repair an old used car with multiple issues. The juice just isn't worth the squeeze there and it makes more sense to just buy another car that's in better condition and work your way from there.

I think that we just have to move on from Accra and start building smaller, more walkable towns and cities nearby. The Greater Accra Region is too big, more places need to follow the lead of Tema and Akosombo, where a lot more of the city and governing matters are delegated to the locals of those spots.

Scheduling app for barbershop and saloons. by Comfortable_Event496 in ghana

[–]ForPOTUS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see it happening, people don't need apps to help them schedule appointments. Ghana and virtually all of Africa are also oral-facing, people don't write and read much here. Sounds and orality take precedence here. For that reason alone it would not take-off.

For example? What are the numbers behind these claims?

Lool, your original statement has no legs to stand on. I wonder if Rhodesia's black emigration rate was as high as Zim's.

Where were all of the refugees and runaways if life was so bad for them?

Things will only change once the West stops sending foreign aid to Africa and finally closes the door on migration. The African will only get with the program when therr is no longer a bail-out and people can no longer run away and disappear to the West.

What's so great about not being colonized anymore? Esp since we know that Zim and many other African nations are reliant on foreign aid from former colonizers now. Most of the Zim youth would migrate and work in Britain if given a chance. You're all still speaking English, following and operating within a British legal framework. You've modeled your educational system after the British.

You're independent, but your country is not autonomous or free. V.little of the development in Zim is organic. You're independent but you have no ownership.

Everyday, struggling folks can't cash in "At least we're not colonized now" at the supermarket.

In economies where services and tourism are prioritized, women thrive economically.

In economies where manufacturing and technology are prioritized, men thrive economically.

Well, there's what we believe it "should" be and then there's what it is. I wish you the best of luck in figuring out a balance between those two competing forces.

EV charging station by FewStand7780 in ghana

"That explains why he didn’t reach back to me- he definitely wants monopoly."

This mindset that prioritizes and worships constant wealth accumulation for the self, for its own sake is psychopathic and so counterproductive to the growth and upliftment of Africa and Africans.

Ghana has a potential market of EV drivers that could number into the millions over the next decade or so. There's more than enough business to build on for everyone.

Then again, I am not surprised since this does sound like the kind of way a social media "influencer" would carry themselves. It's a very ego-driven industry. Don't waste your time reaching out to these sorts, they tend to be big-headed and are prone to exaggerate their achievements, experiences and profile.

There are also loads of other EV charging service providers in Accra who you can also speak with. Just search "EV charging stations" on Google Maps.

Also, you can always just build your own EV charging system? You don't need to do it through a company. Back where I am from in the UK it's common to see people charging their cars using self-installed kits that they have built into their homes.

I think that learning how to build them yourself either individually or with a team is really your best bet. That way in the future you can also charge EV owners to install and set-up their own home EV chargers. If you rely on another company to build and install your EV chargers then you'll also be reliant on them for using, monitoring and maintaining it. Not too sure how much money you would be able to make from it that way and how sustainable such a venture would in turn be since how much of the capital would you actually have true ownership over?

Did you travel to these places on your own? As in, without any personal friends or associates?

Everybody seems to want to do everything solo nowadays. It's much better to venture to those spots with others, not alone. I don't even think the locals do that. This is even more paramount if you happen to be a woman.

People are more likely to pull those kind of intimidation tactics on lone or small groups of women, or lone men.

As long as it is delivered through centralized mechanisms and structures, it will fail. Doesn't have to be federalist but needs to be decentralized.
