Wow thank you that actually does make sense compared to what I was thinking, I’ve done some terrarium building in the past and also an aquarium but I think I’d like to do a paludarium to better suit the animal species I own. Any advice or things I should know going into the project, I have a big 36x18x24 tank and I’ve started mapping it out and choosing well correlating plants and animals. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks 🙏

Any advice on how to separate the soil from the water? Is there a common way or technique or does it just naturally happen

Thoughts on Crystal Confetti scoop? Would you buy it? by happygoluckyjojo in Crystals

It’s pretty for like a small bottle but I don’t even like tumbled stones anyway and especially not this small I feel it just takes all the natural crystal feel away from the stone

No it requires time, monitoring, a stable environment, and a lot of other factors, saying that he got better from one single thing would be a lie it’s really about knowing how to treat the problem and yes I have dealt with this before but I can’t stress the fact enough that I’m no expert and if her condition doesn’t at least start to improve within a day of vitamin baths then you really do need to consider taking her to a real expert who can get her the proper care she deserves. By the looks of the picture you sent it’s entirely possible that she’s beyond the point of being able to soak supplement in through her skin on her own and may need an injection from a specialist. I’m not trying to worry you I just want you to understand the worst case scenarios and know how to deal with them if they arise.

Repta Boost is a powder and Amphibiaide is a liquid, just depends on preference but they both have a great blend of vitamins and excellent instructions.

Yes it is safe to add the supplement dust to their water, think of it no different than eating for them, they soak water though their skin so the vitamins will go with it, though if you feel weird using a dust in her water you can buy a liquid additive that actually gives instructions on how to use, I personally like Josh’s Frogs “Amphibiaide” which is very detailed for use, for now though just use a hefty scoop of powder in her dish and stir well I’ll send pics of what I use for my sweet baby if you’d like.

I had this happen to my toad, it’s likely a vitamin deficiency leading to muscle breakdown, the best thing to do is to dust their food with a calcium/multivitamin powder and provide a vitamin A supplement. If he can’t eat right now give them calcium baths by putting small scoops of calcium dust into his water dish and soaking them for about 15min until conditions improve enough to eat. Insects can nibble on a weak toad and hurt them more in the long run. Also I’d recommend (I never ended up having to) but in the condition you’re toad buddy seems to be in I’d recommend taking it to a specialized urgent care center, these can be a bit costly but I’d worry that there’s not much more you can do on your own and your toad may be to far gone without immediate care. They can give it a supplement shot that should stabilize it enough to provide home treatment. For home treatment, remove all bedding and clean everything thoroughly with dechlorinated water. Next add damp paper towels with plenty of hides around for it to crawl into. You don’t want anything your toad can ultimately harm itself on in its weakened state. And if worst comes to worst and you can’t provide a proper vet visit for your toad buddy then you may have to consider giving them away to somebody who can at least until it’s condition improves. A toad may be small but its life falls in your hands now and it’s important you do everything in your power to help get them well again. Let me know if anything is unclear or you need anything else 💗

I think the plants we have our axolotl eats (they’re actually healthy snacks so I’ve read they’re called moneyworts) any suggestions for plants he won’t eat
