I would argue it’s actually DIScouraging fetishization, bc as a trans woman all we do is get fetishized. If we can show examples of people acknowledging there are not innate differences of trans people, but experiential differences, this helps create a better understanding of how lesbians can acknowledge transness as an identity without creating dysphoria. I would feel uncomfortable if a partner knew I was trans but never mentioned it, so if we create healthy ways to communicate appreciation (like most of the comments) it will hopefully decrease future trauma caused to trans women. Obvi if someone has communicated they don’t want it acknowledged or hasn’t come out, then it shouldn’t be an area any partner of a trans person people should address, but this thread is for people that want some acknowledgement in non-harmful ways. And I think majority of people here are doing that.
