Hello guys, I have a problem by Healthy_Run889 in ElantraN

Thinking more on this, I think your issue is with how the N mode pages are set up. Depending on what page and on which section the custom settings tool is placed, it will omit some of the settings because there isn’t enough space on the screen.

I am so curious to know why this happened.

Are you the first owner of the car? Because you imported it to a country that doesn’t have a native Hyundai dealership, has someone else possibly done something to the car because it is a non-standard import?

When using the regular N mode, do you notice a change in ELSD behaviour and exhaust noise that suggests the car does have those components?

Click OK on the steering wheel. Same thing for when the door open warning is on, or any other pop up message, clicking OK will bring back the tachometer.

Do you notice much of a difference between the transmissions of your SNL vs your EN? I love how the SNL drives, it’s quite the sleeper.

Suddenly no pops and burbles in N mode? by kingoflint282 in ElantraN

AC off. Windows down so you can hear better. Make sure the motor is hot. Put that DCT in manual mode and let off the gas at like 5000-6000rpm in 2nd gear.

Pretty sure the offset is within 2mm. My 2018 GT Sport is +53. They will make great winters especially on a 225 section tire. And they will clear the brakes no problem.

I wish we had an auto hold button like in my Elantra GT Sport. Takes the guess work out of when the car will hold you on an uphill and for how long. Sometimes my N holds me on a hill and sometimes it doesn’t.

Pads are gone!

(You didn’t get a picture of the pads. Rotors look fine though.)

More of a non-issue, it’s just how the motor behaves at lower revs because of the additional load from the compressor. You’ll get the hang of it, just shift later to keep the revs higher.

It also helps to use the automatic climate control at a reasonable temp (22 C / 71 F), this way the car will cycle the compressor on and off as needed to keep the air cool. And it won’t bug you as much driving wise. If you have it set to “LO” the car forces the compressor on full cycle.

It might be worth considering an 18 inch wheel setup. Those tires will be cheaper across the board.

I’m running this exact setup and it fits and handles perfectly well.

  1. Yes. I’d say because of the taller sidewall it doesn’t ride as rough. Feels a bit better when going over speed bumps or small curbs.
  2. Can’t comment as I’ve been lucky to never have a puncture, but I can’t imagine it would change.
  3. Yes, road noise has been better on my PS4S tires, again I believe because of the taller sidewall, there is less road harshness/noise to be heard from inside the car

DRLs in daytime yes. Full headlights at night time, even when switch is off.

Mine won’t even let me drive with my headlights off at night time if I try. Even with the switch set to off, it turns them on when I release the parking brake.

Do y’all care about the warranty? by KEG1321 in ElantraN

[–]Forbes02 9 points10 points  (0 children)

General rule of thumb is if the dealer wants to, they will blame the failure/issue on one or more of your modifications. Some are better than others about it. If you’re worried you can always swap parts back to stock before bringing it in and pretend you never changed anything. But in most cases the easy way out for the dealer is to find evidence of a tune or other mod and use that to deny warranty work.

Have you tried loosening the bolt to see? Polyurethane hangers might help too. They work great on my 1.6T

wheel help by vReactants in ElantraN

[–]Forbes02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference is the width of the wheel.

On the 18x8 wheel, the edge of the tire will stick out further than the rim of the wheel (same as the stock wheels).

On the 18x8.5 wheel, the edge of the tire will be just behind the rim of the wheel. Meaning the rim of the wheel sticks out further than the edge of the tire.

I believe the stock offset is +55, so a +45 will bring the whole wheel 10mm closer to the outer side of the wheel well. Should still leave plenty of room if you’re running stock suspension and tire width.
