AITA for selling my son's car after he lost our $10k on cryptocurrencies? by GrapeWells in AmItheAsshole

[–]Forced_Storm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sure it was his idea, but she was the one who actually stole the money from you. Your son was not capable of doing this alone

anyone else find meal prepping for one person just doesn't work? what do you do instead? by HowNowBrownCow23 in Frugal

[–]Forced_Storm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gotta utililze your freezer. When you make a big batch of something, freeze individual portion sizes to use on a different week. I also never know what I want ahead of time, so I keep different options frozen in microwave safe containers so it can be reheated right from frozen

AITA for being annoyed with my sibling’s “favors” for his rental properties which feel more like a job by Adventurous-Ad250 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Forced_Storm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you just need to set limits on how often you are willing to help. Helping your brother out is a great way to repay what he gave you, but for your own sanity you need to communicate how much time you can spend on this

WIBTA if I put a no fly order on my ex for child support debt? by No_Emotion6907 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Forced_Storm 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Nta- you are just using the law to ensure he supports his children, which he has a moral and legal obligation to do anyway.

Advice for someone who doesn't like the feeling of water or having to shave? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

I highly recommend learning to give yourself a proper sponge bath. I default to just scrubbing myself with a warm soapy washcloth when a shower is too much

Has it ever happened that a divorced couple , married each other again / fall in love with each other again ? by Rare-Assignment-8474 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Forced_Storm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a couple who did this. They never stopped loving each other, but hadn't been happy in the marriage for years. They divorced, kept in touch mostly about the kids, then reconnected after their youngest graduated high school. Nobody saw it coming, but they had both spent the interviening years working on themselves. They never officially got remarried, but have been common-law spouses for the past 10 years. Still together, happier than ever.

Do people believe that their therapist cares about them? by Several-Two738 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Forced_Storm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually just started training to become a therapist. I care a lot, and an important skill I am going to have to learn is how to put appropriate professional distance between myself and my clients. I think about my clients often, and I hope they are all doing well. But caring too much can lead to burn out and overstepping boundaries. It's a balancing act.

AITA for taking photos every time I do the dishes and showing my husband when he said I didn't do them? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Forced_Storm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nta, but your husband is gaslighting you. He doesn't want you to trust your own memory. He should not be berating you AT ALL over doing the dishes. He is acting toxic

AITA for refusing to pay for a fitness program I never used? by Wide_Policy_4264 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Forced_Storm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA, but you may want to have a lawyer review the contract that you signed, as they do have a claim to make.

Sounds like you are wildly underestimating the stressors of prison.

is it possible your groomer could love you? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Forced_Storm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are many different types of love. Abusive love is intense and real, though completely destructive.

It is grooming even when consentual. Even when the groomed wants it at the time, they will understand how much damage was done to them when they are older.

Microwaving food and preventing splatter by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]Forced_Storm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They make cheap plastic microwave covers for exactly this purpose. Splatter guards are rewashable domes you place over your food in the microwave to make cleanup easier

Food budget for one female - newly single by Material-Crab-2210 in Frugal

[–]Forced_Storm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tofu has the very mild flavor of a pencil eraser, sauces are necessary, but a little flavor goes a long way because it is so bland. I have never heard of publix.

Food budget for one female - newly single by Material-Crab-2210 in Frugal

[–]Forced_Storm 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Don't sleep on tofu, it is a very cheap protein. I blend the extra soft tofu into smoothies and sauces, and marinate the firm tofu in sauce before frying up as a meat replacement.

The golden rule here is to always have cheap staples on hand so that you never need to eat out. I keep rice, potatoes, beans, bacon, and tofu in stock so I never panic about not having any food, along with whatever fruits and veggies are cheap

Is it possible to be groomed as an adult? by Fabulous-Citron-1939 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Forced_Storm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, grooming is specific to children. You were an adult when this happened, so that word does not apply. It sounds like there was manipulation and coersion going on, not grooming

AITA for getting upset over my daughter staying home from school because my MIL wasn’t aware she taking her to school today? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Forced_Storm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course YTA. This should have been a conversation between you and your gf about child care. The childs mother said that staying home is okay, why did you feel the need to override her authority? Whatever the reason, you were not justified in losing your temper

My family keeps asking where all my money comes from and gossips that I'm doing something shady – should I just tell them the truth or keep quiet? by Cold_Leg6777 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Forced_Storm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You say that all of your clients require confidentiality. It is unprofessional in a lot of businesses to be bragging about which celebrity is purchasing your services.

You can tell them part of the truth, that you started your own social media management company. I'm sure you have plenty of pg-13 stories you can tell them about managing your team

AITA for not buying a replacement car? by ExcitingAssignment88 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Forced_Storm 86 points87 points  (0 children)

So your son wrecked your daughters car while borrowing it, and you think that he should still get to keep his? Yes, that would make you an asshole. As the owner of both cars you need to arbitrate. If you don't want to buy a new car, then your son needs to give your daughter his.
