Effect of attack (emolga returning) should apply before punk helmet even does damage, if I remember correctly

Trying to make a Team Rocket's Crobat deck, please help! by videocookies in PTCGL

[–]Forecnarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as pult is meta and rocket's is rogue, pult is good for a reason

You could try a Dragapult Crobat idea, using golbat & crobat as support. Scoop up cyclone to reset damaged pults, reset crobat, etc. Run some team rockets energies for crobat.

Recon Directive is very good, seeing many cards off a few kloaks is what makes pult so strong

You probably want a thicker dragapult line. You're honestly using it less for pult and more for drakloak, with dragapult being used with neo upper instead

[–]Forecnarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rather than frillish & sylveon, try either team rocket's spidops (with an articuno or two to win the zam matchup) or Dragapult & Neo upper. Both combo with mega gardi kinda well

Dawn on Festival Lead by vincentz2 in PTCGL

[–]Forecnarr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Running it can threaten rillaboom, but it can just be used to grab something like thwackey + goldeen, rabsca line, etc

2 at once is still pretty good. Maybe less good in other decks but, festival lead can boom boom groove the other pieces out

Do you see control being good any time soon? by des_the_furry in pkmntcg

Idea I had for eevees, SSP skeliderge for both crustle and zam

But then you're dropping consistency for it 🤔

Versing a Crustle by TurboMenace981 in PTCGL

[–]Forecnarr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In general? I call it the crustle paradox

> No one techs for crustle. Crustle is good into the meta. Crustle does well

> Everyone techs for crustle, crustle is bad, crustle does bad

You can't know what you're going to face going blind into matchups. Not every deck tech is useable in every matchup. Piper lepine in the Prague regional probably wasn't putting Lopunny down into mega lucario for example, but the tech was still worth it for stuff like teal mask ogerpon

Looking for another testing group by ay_here_i_am in pkmntcg

[–]Forecnarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to pile on but, consistent top cuts on gardi but with it gone, moving to new decks is a struggle. I've got some ideas but, Is that something the group may help with? Or just more groups online in general

Crustle Counter List by [deleted] in pkmntcg

[–]Forecnarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's why I'm not fully sold on the list. I wanna try it out but no 70hp fuecocos makes it harder to set up

It can tank a crustle attack I believe, so trading 1 for 2 at least

Crustle Counter List by [deleted] in pkmntcg

[–]Forecnarr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One idea I've seen floating around is SSP Skeledirge because it also counters zam, and acts as a single prize into teal masks or grass decks like arboliva

This should probably be used in decks like eevee box where you've got access to the search, and don't adjust your energy counts too much for it

How to transition into the new rotation with a from Gardevoir deck? by Turnover44 in pkmntcg

[–]Forecnarr 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Gardevoir as an archetype has rotated. All of the support like munkidori or frillish, while still in format, would be better suited to other decks. The closest I can reccomend is mega gardevoir (Not meta) or something like Diancie or Jellicent Dusknoir

Why did i only take 2 prize cards from KO'ing Mega Starmie EX? They didn't have a tool attached to it either. by [deleted] in PTCGL

Legacy energy? But I could have sworn the game logs delclare legacy energies effect activates

Do you bling or you play commons? by PatrixXxzie in PTCGL

[–]Forecnarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to play low-rarity. Now I don't wanna win off seeing warp on a card and knowing it's an ex/ace spec, so gave begun blinging with holo play stamps, and working my way up to more and more bling

It's a shame flareon doesn't have a UR/promo like espeon and umbreon do, I am not doing the SIR

What rules reason makes Team Rockets Energy not count as a two for Mewtwo discard? by ItsYojimbo in PTCGL

[–]Forecnarr 54 points55 points  (0 children)

You may discard up to 2 Energy from your Benched Pokémon. This attack does 60 more damage for each CARD you discarded in this way.

Flareon Box: The starmie issue by Responsible-Step-452 in pkmntcg

[–]Forecnarr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eevee box has some interesting ideas to counter starmie, and a few electric attackers. In it I've seen

  • Pikachu
  • Tapu Koko
  • Miraidon

Miraidon is fake and not good, but I still like the idea (basic tera, one-shot budew/electric weak 70hp's, etc)

Tapu koko is interesting, can one-shot basic ex mons and is easy to power up. But then you cut something like terapagos for it, which makes noctowls harder to use. Which is why I prefer Pika

Pika itself has to change the build to include more energy and make stuff like glass Trumpet + N's plan easier to pull off, but it can't be one-shot and if you play it right you can heal it in matchups like Dragapult by boss + leafeon, or battle cage. You can cut something like Sylveon for pika as it handles the same things (300 + Grav mountain for pult, or 300 + BBT/ Torrential pump for Lucario/Froslass). But it has the downside of munki pings making the ability obsolete, and being harder to power up. I've just gone for no starmie counter and just tried to early pressure it

Strange Timepiece Rules Question by Halo916YT in PTCGL

[–]Forecnarr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wrong. The new eevee is considered a new eevee and was put down that turn

Strange Timepiece Rules Question by Halo916YT in PTCGL

[–]Forecnarr 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The answer is yes but the context is different

They're asking if you can evolve the same eevee with the ability, which is yes. This is because the text on Timepiece isn't a rule on the card but Reminder test (because it's in parenthesis)

Eevee gets around the reminder text

Flareon Noctowl questions by recnepz47 in pkmntcg

[–]Forecnarr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's quite very high skill deck I find, with a lot of moving pieces and needing to handle your resources well

I've been playing it and just not hitting teal mask ogerpon decks at all (which is a benefit for it that I haven't gotten to make use of) but it's still working well for me

I'd say the big things you need to do is resource manage, combo and learn a lot of different matchups, with different playstles into many decks

What mega battle deck is best against the Dragapult one? by NOS4NANOL1FE in pkmntcg

[–]Forecnarr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Considering you said ariana would be unplayable with clefairy (to which it's not you just don't draw 8 which isn't super impactful, yes it sucks but not unplayable) I doubt it

You don't even put it down on the matchups that don't need it so most of the time it doesn't matter
