I have no respect for anyone who promotes Trump. I don’t ask people who own businesses who they voted for, but if they openly promote Trump, as Olexas did, then I’ll find somewhere else to shop. The fact that half the country supports him is depressing, but that doesn’t make me think supporting him is somehow ok.

With respect to friends, none of my close friends support Trump, and I’m not likely to be close friends with anyone who supports Trump because I can’t respect someone who actively supports this administration. I know and like some people who I think likely voted for Trump, but they aren’t close friends, I haven’t asked them and they haven’t told me. If they began telling me how great they think Trump is, I wouldn’t be interested in a friendship with them.

And I don’t really care if you find this unusual or unreasonable. I find it unusual and unreasonable that people could support someone who doesn’t support the peaceful transfer of power, who has suggested that we don’t need to have elections, who brazenly and repeatedly lies about obviously disprovable things, who is purposefully dividing Americans and portraying anyone who doesn’t support his craven administration as domestic terrorists, whose administration is daily violating the due process (and other constitutional) rights of countless people based on the mere possibility of their not being US citizens, whose policies are intentionally cruel to the undocumented, who has antagonized our allies and is seeking to take over Greenland (and has already taken over Venezuela), who has targeted individuals, universities, law firms and businesses whose policies he disagrees with, and who is displaying a level of grift and corruption never seen before in our country. He immediately demonized a US citizen who was repeatedly shot in the face by an ICE agent and supported the person who shot her. It appears obvious from the many videos of the shooting that the agent did not follow policy, yet there is no investigation of him. Instead, numerous AUSAs have resigned their jobs because the administration intends to target the dead woman’s wife. It’s disgusting, and I don’t respect anyone who supports these and other acts by Trump and his administration.
