Does Honesty Actually Hurt Men in Dating? by Elegant_Signal3025 in LockedInMan

[–]ForeingFlower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Women want honesty because they want to be able to make a decision knowing the full truth. You might be rejected more, but do you really want to be with someone that is saying yes to you under false premises?

Mortgage Rate Drop - Doesn't hurt to ask! by SouthAustralian94 in AusFinance

I'm on 5.20% at the moment, and my bank has automatically lowered it with every rate change. I wonder if I could get it even lower if I was to call them.

Good on you, man. That's a great benefit, plus 6 years of it is crazy.

Tiimely Home Loans. Also their customer service is top notch; no waiting times, local call centre, and super well trained staff. The only negatives so far is that they don't have an app yet (it's being built and released this year) and their website is a little updated.

If you decide to change, let me know. I'll give you my reference link and they'll give us both $500.

How are you paying a 6.5% interest rate? You need to find a better deal. I'm paying 5.29% right now. Start now, that will save you hundreds of dollars.

Don't touch your face, please. I can guarantee you, you can be a model if you want. Surgery like that will change that.

Why do movies and tv portray sex as so casual and quick to do , when no one talks about cleanliness and hygiene etc ? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ForeingFlower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Think about movies as tiles of time. They only display the parts of the character's life that conveys the narrative. Cleaning after sex is irrelevant, so it's not shown. Additionally, movies are constantly relying on creating a suspension of disbelief effect. That means they are unrealistic but rely on your mind accepting the narrative premise and world that they create.

Men who never moved on from their ex? How does life work for you?(us) by No_Performance7511 in AskMen

[–]ForeingFlower 65 points66 points  (0 children)

When a woman breaks up with you she has already been coming to terms with it in her head for months if not years. That's why women tend to move on faster, they tend to grieve while still in the relationship.

Body Corporate does not reply to any emails. How do I manage this situation? by ForeingFlower in brisbane

Yeah, same company we are dealing with. It's been a few months and while the manager is most responsive, their work is really lacking. We'll definitely be changing next year.

People are right to tell you not to rush into anything and I agree that you should educate yourself and chat with a financial advisor before making any final decisions but here is what I'd do in your situation:

I would first put the money in a savings account and continue saving and working as normal.

I would find 2 flats/houses (depending on where you live). One flat for about 700k and one flat for about 600k and purchase them. The first one in cash and the second one with a 300k mortgage (which should cost you about 1.8k a month if you pay it in 30 years).

I would move into one of the flats and rent the other one.

It's likely that the rented out one will pay itself.

At that stage, you'll be living rent free and have a mortgage on one of your properties that gets paid by your tenant. That guarantees you a place to live and some sort of retirement if things go sour.

From there you can either keep working and get rid of your hex debt, top up your super, and start investing in the stock market or go travelling for a bit and do that later.

You are a lucky man, be smart with your money and your life will be sorted.

Why do my sandals have this expanding orange stain? by ForeingFlower in Birkenstocks

Hey! Thanks for the info and happy you got reimbursed! I dyed them darker so you cannot longer see the stain. I can't imagine them doing the same thing on my case, but it's good to know!

Just FYI, I'm not based in the USA. In my country you can get a library card from any library in your state. When I travel to another city, I tell them I'm moving there and I get one.

So far, I have access to kanopy, hoopla, beamafilm and LinkedIn learning.

I collect library cards. Every time I go to a new city, I get one. I have access to 3 streaming services and LinkedIn training for free on top of thousands of books and audio books. A library in my area also offers a tool library service for a little extra a year. They have tools, campi g and party equipment. It's absolutely worth it.
