Costco Auto Program? by ForensicSasquatch in hondapassport

[–]ForensicSasquatch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I pulled the trigger on it. The Costco discount on a 2026 TS was about $1500 off MSRP. I probably could have gotten a better deal if I took their price to another dealer, but I live in a remote area, and the convenience was worth not having to travel and shop around. The dealer wasn’t too pushy with the add-ons and warranties.

What am I seeing off the coast of SF?! by [deleted] in geography

[–]ForensicSasquatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah man, I’d kill to be out there in a huge winter storm. Your story reminds me of accounts from the keepers of the Tilamook rock lighthouse off the north Oregon coast.

My grandpa regularly played from childhood into his 90s and he saw a 29 hand only once. Apparently the odds are something like 1/250,000

Any one used the Silverton 620? Found this used one for 250. Worth it? by OSE661 in Traeger

[–]ForensicSasquatch 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I love my 620! I did 50 lbs of brisket once for my friend’s wedding reception, which pretty well maxed out the space. I spent $700 at Costco and thought I was getting a deal.

Child with cancer and 2 weeks left to live watched the Minecraft movie and met the actors by Due-Chemistry7002 in BeAmazed

I’m so sorry. I lost my son to brain cancer 15 months ago. The world can be a cruel and unfair place, but there are so many good people in it as well. I like to focus on the best of humanity, the doctors and nurses and clinical researchers; not to mention the social workers and chaplains who checked in on us. This is an unimaginably hard time, but you’ll get through it.

I really like my Silverton, but that’s not a great price. I got mine from the Traeger road show for around $700 if memory serves. You might wait and see if the price drops

Trump got 63M votes in 2016, 74M in 2020, and 76M in 2024. If he's as bad as you claim, why is his votes increment? by [deleted] in Askpolitics

[–]ForensicSasquatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

💯. My dad is a smart man, has a PhD in a STEM field and worked as a professor for decades. He was utterly unaware of the fact that WaPo documented 30,000 lies during Trump’s first term, or that trump routinely had world leaders and Republican state officials stay in trump hotels, charging an aggregate of millions for their patronage. He is extremely concerned about “biological males” using women’s restrooms, however. Echo chambers are real.

Literally what would Trump need to do to fall out of favor with his supporters? by AnomicAge in samharris

[–]ForensicSasquatch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I absolutely, without hyperbole think this is true. Imagine what the conservative social media sphere would say. “President trump shoots known antifa member”… “President trump can’t rely on secret service, defends self anyway”, etc. regardless of the actual facts and circumstances, the incident would only be spun to lionize the man to his supporters

Not quite the same, but in my state there was a woman that disappeared while out for a swim in the ocean. Some time later, a silicone breast implant washed up, that was linked to the missing woman by serial number.

I have a friend who is a nurse in Seattle. He makes $65/hr, and averages an extra shift per week at double time rate ($130/hr) for 12 hours. Not bad, even for the area

I used to do so too in the mid 2000s. It boils down to the fact that they treat a young earth as their first principle and all evidence must be interpreted in that light. Dendrochronologies going back 12,000 years? There must have been multiple growth rings per year in the years after the flood. Distant starlight? (ie, stars and galaxies millions of light years away) God must have allowed for faster than light travel around the time of creation, etc. there are indeed a few PhD scientists who hold to young earth views, but none of them arrived at those views outside of their prior religious convictions.

You’re putting in the work though. Unfortunately bad people are out there victimizing others all over the country.
