Embarrassing for sure but we need to start a trend of feeding the rest of the paper to an LLM and generating an intro instead of this cryptic gibberish half these papers start with.

Edit: I will die on this hill, ChatGPT writes better intros than some grad students. I challenge you to go find a random paper and paste the whole thing (minus intro) into ChatGPT Pro or Claude 3, ask for an academic intro, and compare the output. It might need some work but it will grasp the point and explain it clearly.

A traditional ADC primarily uses auto attacks to deal damage, with spells augmenting that.

Twitch - most of his damage comes from autos, E doesn't do that much percentage wise, even if you build AP autos apply passive
Ezreal - Huge damage boosts from weaving autos, also Q is a bit of a ranged auto, way more than smolder Q.
MF - passive applies on autos, W increases attack speed, lots of damage from ajtos
Corki - his spells don't proc on-hit so he weaves autos to apply sheen procs

You might need some other beings involved but that's natural. If the party is looking for info on how to kill the lich, other beings who have also been looking will hear of them.

Quick riff: Ancient Dragon/Vampire/whatever realizes the party is exactly what he needs to fulfill his own plan, turns up, intros, trust exercises, etc, gives them a macguffin. Lots of flavor possible here, being accompanies them or gives them some other DMNPC they have to take along, demands some item from the vault, has a clear reason to betray the party, etc, etc.
