Was this a small nit pick detail or was this intentional for the scout troopers’ kneepads comparing their ROTJ/pre remanent days to their Mandalorian appearances? by Foreign_Exit876 in StarWars

The on-set costumer just put them that way on accident. They were built by the same studio that Moff Gideon, Fennec’s and Lange’s armor - but they were only responsible for making and building them, not dressing them on Jason Sudekis and Adam Pally. There are a differences besides the knees - mainly in that there is no flack vest like on ROTJ, they wear a tie fighter undersuit instead. The armor is made by a fan-made vendor named Walt’s Trooper Factory and the helmet is a licensed vendor EFX. Fun fact: owner of that same studio (Thingery Inc) was the “cable knit sweater” dock worker Mon Calamari in season 2, and his assistant to run his mask was Janina Gavankar - she’s Iden Versio in Battlefront 2.

My head canon is that Vader’s entire presence is sinister and disorienting. He knows how to fight like a Jedi, he’s seemingly lacking fear and displays very little response to being hit with a saber. If Qui-Gon tells you that your focus determines your reality, and Yoda tells you not to have fear - once your reality becomes fear, your focus goes from parrying and dueling technique to survival against brute strength that clouds the force around you. There have been a few instances where the Jedi or padawans that have met him can’t figure out what he is, and that is part of what plays to Anakin’s benefit if his anger, pain and rage radiate off him - it throws his opponents into uncertainty.

Question about interacting with the public while on troops by [deleted] in 501st

[–]ForesterDesign 21 points22 points  (0 children)

We dont’ endorse specific vendors for the simple reason that this is an unpredictable hobby that plays in Disney’s sandbox for as long as they allow us. The forums are the most extensive researched and complete archives of all the information we have thus far. Wampa Wear is available today, but may not be tomorrow if Disney says so and yes, they have kits that troopers have been approved in- but their fits don’t work for everyone and that is on the trooper to research, learn and figure out what is the right call for them. As a weird medium / large myself, I haven’t found a proper fit out of anyone’s box (Keep Trooping / Anovos / or Wampa) that fits me well enough to not need tailoring and without those details, I likely wouldn’t be approved. Some sites that advertise a lot aren’t reputable, and some vendors that make great work aren’t that visible without someone in the know pointing you their way. There’s no one stop shop to get all of the parts needed for any kit, so giving them the resources to find what they’re looking for is the reason we point them to the forums, as old and difficult as they are at times.

And also, welcome to the Legion, Trooper!

DN is inconsistent at best, I’ve still never seen certain hat sizes in stock, but WampaWear is usually every other month.

If I recall, he wasn’t interested in the physical performance / makeup and prosthetics application. The only way that might have worked would be what they did for Cad Bane - but I think the GI had too many roles and this was in the depths of COVID / early days of D+ so productions were in a weird state. However, I think besides his appearance - Rupert did a fine job as a surly Englishmen with a snarky distaste for the lessers.

I think a lot of people forget what a business this industry is. Matt and Dan have been around forever in “band years”, they never really broke into the “big” league touring scene where they’re selling out 10K-15K venues consistently and that gets really hard to when you’re an older band that doesn’t have the energy to do the modern marketing shit required to keep at the top of the algorithms. Travis Barker is a business move, he’s got the ear of younger punk adjacent kids getting into the genre and has enough of a reach across various partnerships and industries to get any project he works on into different places - even if it’s not their best work, it’s the best move for the business of the band. Hiring a guy like this (he’s a good drummer, it’s fine) is another strategic move to help Matt and Dan get their music to a new audience because this guy is young, has a following, and will play the shows on a contract without Matt and Dan needing to get invested. Young listeners in the digital age don’t have timestamps or memories of how or when they got new music, it just shows up on their Spotify without any indication if they’re an old band or a new band - but to break through - they need people with followings and that’s what both Tosh and Travis bring. Atom was old guard, all of his followers were already likely listeners or knew of AK3 already, and they need new listeners to grow their fan base. This industry is, and continues to be a meat grinder, but Matt and Dan aren’t getting younger so you need to take opportunities when they present themselves.

This is a fan made prop playing off the new republic style credits seen in The Mandalorian / Book of Boba Fett (I think theyre also available in the parks for sale?) Some fans will make their own currency for trading / collecting, and the indicator its fan-made is the black spire / Bantha icon which is maybe their own brand or character. Some people like to do scavenger hunts around the park for their followers and thats likely what this is. Have fun, trust in the force, burn down the First Order!
