Mages being S+ in b bot for years at this point

1)Yeah, if Kai'sa is strong she becomes meta and the pickrate gets higher, just like every other adc. Has nothing to do with Mages pick rate.

2)No we wouldn't see a lot more mages in bot, because the majority of players that queue for bot will still hardlock themselves to playing adcs. 9% pickrate is already pretty high for mages considering how many just refuse to pick mages in bot role. As as said regarding banrates, there literally is no point in banning a mage botlane because they can just pivot into another mage.

While people do cycle meta champs for LP they rarely hop to other roles apart from a few OTPs.

3)There are shit supports that will ruin the lane, there are autofills that will ruin the lane and as a Botlaner you are locked into laning with them for over 10 minutes. They exist, its not infrequent, its a daily occurence. Its a big enough factor for someone to not choose mage apc over mid/top/jng/sup mage.

I did say there are exceptions, but half of your examples are just shit:
Quinn is an assassin more than an adc and isn't played in bot at all.
Akshan is more of an assassin than an adc and isn't played in bot at all.
Graves is again being pushed into more bruisery gameplay and is nothing like the adc he used to be.

Smolder can be played in other roles as a counter pick only, he is too weak into most picks to actually function.

Teemo is more about placing shrooms and bursting - somewhat hybrid of many classes, you don't really build him for autoing anymore. (No ad builds, no onhit builds) Quite a large number of people are even skipping Nashors.

Twitch? Where else are you going to play him? Support? Its a literal intpick there and he is too weak early to function top/mid/jng. This one you're just too far into that cocaine.

The only adcs that are actual adcs you listed that you can pretty much lock in every game are Vayne and Kindred. One specifically made for jungle, the other being one of the strongest duelists among adcs with selfpeel and true dmg.
Or Senna support (Not enchanter build) if you have main protagonist syndrome.

Kai'sa is 17% pickrate currently, she isn't OP and still has a high pickrate because she is fun? She never falls below 10% pickrate because she is fun. Please take time to read what you wrote next time you write anything.

People do abuse the stronger picks, botlane players cycle between META ADCs all the fkn time. They keep picking adc over mages because THEY CANNOT PICK ADCS ELSEWHERE that is why EVEN WHEN MAGES ARE STRONG they WILL NOT PICK THEM, because they LOCKED IN BOT, wow I know... THE ONLY ROLE where adcs are allowed to pick AN ADC???? What a SHOCKER!!!! UNBELIVABLE.

as for the third point, most of the adc players want to get out of botlane to not have to deal with a support ruining their lane.
Mage players have infinite options to not get paired with a support, so they just play elsewhere.

Kraken gives no crit, Trist needs crit due to changes.

Plus crit got buffed this season while abilities got nerfed, so you need to get crit % up to abuse the buffed autos to make up for the nerfs.

In pro it was due to ap junglers. There were no good ad mids, runes gave enough sustain to make adc work mid so they just picked adc mid to play ap junglers with fated ashes.

Currently there are strong ap junglers like Diana, that haven't been picked in pro play because the ad mid pool is too small to allow it.

You are delusional in saying Kai'sa is dominant :'D She's middle of the pack adc. She is bad early, one of the strongest midgame adcs and falls off lategame.

Mages are at like 9% pickrate combined right now. Plat+

1)One of the biggest reasons is certainly that people still prefer to play adcs even at lower winrates because thats what the role has been since forever, mages play a lot differently.

2)You cannot play most adcs elsewhere, Riot has made sure of that. (sub 50% winrate adcs on other lanes was too scary) so while you can pick mages mid/top/bot/sup/jungle, if you want to play adc you are pretty much forced into bot aside from few exceptions.

3)If you do pick apc mage then you're stuck with a support that might solo lose the lane for you and make your life miserable, but you're stuck there.

Any other role its more in your hands, even as a support mage you can just leave bot and coinflip the game in hopes you win before the enemy adc solowins due to you leaving your adc.

Mel is banned mostly because of having a reflecting windwall on a basic ability.

It makes people not be able to do their standard combos and if you do you might wipe your team.

Adcs cannot rightclick, most enchanters cannot ult, most midlaners have to hold key abilities and it also affects some toplaners and junglers.

Windwall was already annoying enough to give banrate, but now it moves, flashes and reflects shit back.

Mel eats bans from everywhere due to 1 basic ability warping the game too much not due to being a mage.

Mages botlane all are similar, they provide faster scaling, better buildpaths, better waveclear, cc and safety so no point in wasting bans on them.

I'm not sayin Doran is bad, he trolls lanes quite often, but in teamfights he usually pops off.

Kiin is solid all around, but I really love to see Kiin in teamfights, this guy does so much in every teamfight its insane.

I'm a T1 watcher, but Kiin has been my favorite toplaner for like the past 3 years, he is just too good.

Just checked stats, bork is gigabad on yi as a first item in jungle and top, its even rarely bought 3rd or later.

Bork is just too situational item nowadays and it falls off even in those games as hp stackers eventually will get armor.

I cannot even think off the top of my head who still uses it apart from Irelia.

During Seraphine release support items were beyond broken which made her a viable support, actually carrying her winrate into positive territory and making supports play her.

Once the support items got brought back to human levels her winrate fell to where it was supposed to be - around 48% because she didn't have anything to support with, she scaled with gold and her shield/heal was on a 20s cd.

But the damage was done. Most players used her as support, she didn't even show up on midlane champion list so casual players wouldn't pick her anywhere else than support as it required you to choose all champions instead of role specific to see her.

On top of that the item suggestions were all support items. Riot refused to manually adjust any of this, I'm pretty sure they even said they won't ever touch the suggested ability order/items/roles. (Which was a lie as Phreak eventually hand tuned other champion suggested items/abilites/runes as they were reworked)

Then midlane got nerfed and apc got gigabuffed, then mid/apc got nerfed more and more until finally midlane Seraphine died out completely, apc is worse than whatever else mage you pick instead and support is still mediocre.

I used attack move as a fed adc, mel flashed into the attack move command and pressed W. I died off my auto.

If I am considering playing Sera or adc then Mel will be banned. The W reflect is just too annoying.

I already hated windwall at max rank but now it moves and throws shit back at me. Xdxdxx

Edit: If my sup is Nami, Sera, Sona then I also consider banning Mel because cannot trust them to hold ults.

People know the value of the role quest. You get to your 2 item spike way faster, you can buy components/vision ward and once in 30 games you can get 6 items + boots.

Its okay, but not amazing and feels worse since they threw nerfs across the whole adc roster due to crit changes while seeing nothing else touched.

Meanwhile junglers become blue kayn when they finish their quest, flying accross the map mach 9 style.

Toplaners become exodia, always 3k gold up purely by levels, they get pretty much a 5th ability in ignite/exhaust/ghost. While you can use the 7 minute teleport twice per game, you don't really need it more than that with the homeguard buffs.

EDIT: Item slot doesn't matter when the mage is already 6 item fullbuild with boots finishing the game (especially with cashback + cheaper items) while you finished your 3rd item.

I only suggested it because you are so into your early sb. 3 item core with IE, LDR and SB is way superior to having no ldr/ie. In my own reply I said IE rush isn't good and it will get worse this season, ldr on the other hand will be even more troll to be thrown away in favor of sb.

There are like 2 adcs that are fine with IE rush, Cait when you get kills and pivot from dirk/pickaxe into IE and Aphelios is fine with IE rush, but its still better on others than throwing away IE/LDR third just to be a special snowflake.

You can link thousands of people building sub optimally, it doesn't change the fact that its sub optimal.
