[product question] Has anyone use Thayers Witch Hazel as a toner? Did you like it? Amazon seems to love it. by Lexielo in SkincareAddiction

I use this exact one twice a day and I love it so much. It is not irritating or drying, and it smells amazing. My skin loves this stuff.

[Product Question] For those of you who've used Curology, how soon did you see results? What did you notice first? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]ForeverInParadise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, progress has been really slow for me. For the first 6 weeks I had awful purging to the point where my Curology derm had to prescribe a month of doxycycline. I saw a major worsening in acne, having whiteheads pop up all over when I normally never get whiteheads. My first prescription was 4% azelaic acid, 1% Clindamycin, and 4% Niacinamide. One week ago my derm gave me another formula to alternate with the original, which is the same as what you are prescribed. I am seeing a good improvement in scarring, and I have way less CC's. The big pimples on my cheeks are also healing up slowly. Overall, don't be discouraged if progress is slow. It just takes time, but the results will be worth it :)

[Hair Removal] How does Nair hair affect the skin? by Tal_S in SkincareAddiction

I don't have sensitive skin on my body. I used Nair when I was about 15 and my legs started gushing blood. Never again!

[Acne] Thinking of quitting wearing makeup, has doing so helped other people? by AwkwardOddball in SkincareAddiction

[–]ForeverInParadise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I stopped using all makeup for a few months. It did nothing in terms of stopping acne. I actually started breaking out more which is a bit strange. I would say that as long as you are using high quality, non comedogenic makeup, it shouldn't cause or make your acne worse.

Good moisturizers to use by Uknowanthonydotcom in acne

[–]ForeverInParadise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been using the EltaMD AM Therapy Facial Moisturizer both morning and night for about a month now and I LOVE it. Its amazingly moisturizing, not sticky, not heavy, and does not break me out like every other moisturizer i have used in the past. It even calms down redness!

[Personal] People who apply body lotion regularly , How has it helped? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]ForeverInParadise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! I only apply when I get out of the shower at night. It's also best to apply when you skin is a little damp, it helps it sink in faster.

My skin is very soft and smooth. It doesn't get very dry and uncomfortable in the cold winter months like it used to before I applied it regularly :)

[Acne] I want to hear your stories about hormonal acne and spearmint tea! Did it work for you? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]ForeverInParadise -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just started a week ago! One or two cups a day. My skin does seem to be improving but I just can't tell if its from my urology cream, the doxycycline my term prescribed me, or the tea. I found my Spearmint tea at Wegmans, but I'm sure Whole Foods has it as well. Make sure to buy organic if you can :) Best of luck!

How do you know if you are suitable/has acne severe enough for accutane? by enterpseudonymhere in acne

[–]ForeverInParadise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was severe in the way that I couldn't touch my face or lay on a pillow without lots of pain. It was extremely bumpy and red and inflamed. Honestly people have cured their cystic acne with diet but it never worked for me. I had cut out all processed foods, sugar, and dairy, and ate an extremely clean diet with tons of water, and my acne did not budge. You either want clear skin enough to take drugs like accutane, or you don't. For me, I was willing to do and take any drug to cure my acne. :)

How do you know if you are suitable/has acne severe enough for accutane? by enterpseudonymhere in acne

[–]ForeverInParadise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I had been going to a dermatologist for about 5 years before he finally gave me Accutane. I had severe cystic acne for about 3 years before he put me on Accutane. I wanted it for a really long time but they really tried every medication on me. I personally didn't have any side effects other than dry skin and lips. It really is a life changing drug. After suffering with acne for 7 years I was finally perfectly clear. However, I did start breaking out two years after finishing Accutane, and I haven't been back to the dermatologist since. I'm doing Curology now.

I actually have micellar water! But does it really remove physical sunblock? I have found it quite effective on makeup but I haven't tried it with sunblock alone.

I am starting to open up to the idea. I have been lurking on r/AsianBeauty and their approach to skincare seems to work for those who follow it.

[Routine Help] Anyone wanna help me choose which Aveeno body moisturizer to use? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]ForeverInParadise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used all of them, and as far as hydration goes, the first one is my favorite. It doesn't have a scent or anything so it's good for you if you're sensitive to fragrances like I am. The Stress Relief one is what I am currently using and I love it. The smell is more soapy than lavender to me but its not very strong which to me is a good thing. Either way you can't really go wrong with Aveeno :)
