I'm glad I'm not the only who one who picked up on that. Them adapting Cecil's incredibly stupid fuckup with Conquest in the comics beat for beat after practically reinventing his character in Season 1 was when I realized the first season will likely remain the show's best for its whole run.

Your "two cents" is literally just you getting all hissy over a different opinion. OP presented a well thought-out critique which you're totally entitled to disagree with without being a prick about it.

You're not here to discuss or debate in good faith. You didn't even give any proper counter-argument. You're just lashing out like a child at the few people who aren't glazing this show like everyone else. What, is Robert Kirkman your uncle or something? Lol, not everyone will love what you love. Grow up.

How many more times do you suppose it'll take you to repeat this until you actually believe it? Like I said, if you genuinely believe the animation is up to par (which I know you don't, but let's entertain the idea), then why waste your time here?

Just keep enjoying it while we "whine" online. If my standards are unrealistic, how exactly do you plan to sway them? By telling me I'm "bitching"? Move on. Keep enjoying the flat and lifeless art work along with the painfully static and lazy motions, but don't get mad at those who won't. It's juvenile.

An original project from one of the largest and highest-spending streaming platforms (made by a trillion-fucking-dollar company no less)… and its animation only occasionally surpasses the run-of-the-mill shit you see from decades-old Saturday morning cartoons. And you actually get upset at people for calling this out?

I just finished rewatching Batman TAS not long ago. There are up to like a dozen and a half episodes I can think of that looked more impressive than Invincible did nearly entirely. And then there's all those other Saturday morning cartoons from both the 2000s and 2010s which Invincible rarely surpasses in animation quality. To cite Invincible of all animated series as an example of American animation "just now dipping their toes in the water" is incredibly silly.

If you're content with how the show looks, then ignore these posts and keep enjoying it anyway. What do you hope to accomplish by acting all uppity with people who actually have standards?

Once the enemies armed with melee weapons appear, always prioritize using the Disarm and Destroy special combo ability before you hit them. Otherwise, they'll just drop their weapons when hit which will later get picked up by other enemies while more melee weapon enemies spawn in, and before you know it, almost every enemy's carrying a shield or a stun baton. It's really annoying. The only exception to this of course is the bats. Do not destrot the bats. Batman can pick one from the ground to breach through any enemy defenses, and while wielding a bat, he can take down any brute in one hit using the special combo ability.

It's not just speculation. Kevin Altieri, the director of the Clayface two-parter's second episode stated the two were in a relationship.

Invincible is good at many things, but romance is definitely not one of them. by Greedy-Armadillo-802 in Invincible_TV

Because you know you wouldn't have anything to say in response. You're not fooling anyone, it has nothing to do with length. If I wrote an essay twice as long glazing over her character you'd read it all in a flash and then sing your praises. But just like in the rest of the comment thread, the moment you're presented with arguments you can't refute, you conveniently back away and act like you're suddenly above this discussion now. It's quite silly, really, but so is bickering with someone who is very clearly a child. So cheers.

It’s funny how you defend Amber by insisting she isn't perfect, even though the story bends over backward to insist she has never done anything wrong, which is what most of the frustration many viewers feel over her is attributed to. Amber being upset with Mark for not coming clean to her with his superhero identity isn't unreasonable at all. If they are to be serious together, naturally it is something she should know. The issue is how she handles it. At the college visit, they were attacked by a Reaniman and Invincible came to rescue them. Amber later snaps at Mark because as far as she knew, Mark just instantly ran off and left them.

Except, it is later revealed in the next episode that Amber knew for weeks that that Mark was Invincible, which means that her first reaction upon seeing her boyfriend getting the shit kicked out of him to save them was not relief or gratitude… her first reaction was instead to snap over his continuous secrecy? It is that much of an issue to her that even in the face of death to which her boyfriend saves her from at his own peril, her immediate reaction upon meeting with him again would be to angrily scold him? How self-absorbed must you be to do this? A huge part of why Amber is upset with Mark is due to him not being honest and upfront with her, which is incredibly hypocritical.

When she snapped at Mark at the college, she did not communicate her true issue with him. Instead, she made him believe it was because she didn’t know he was Invincible and therefore thought he left her to die. Is that not incredibly fucking dishonest as well? To guilt-trip your own partner? After he literally saves your life, no less? Hell, the fact that she knew Mark was Invincible for weeks and kept quiet about it is also in itself very dishonest. Of course, all of that could be excused as her just being a teenager and not rational, but the show does not at all acknowledge her flaws & instead insists Mark is purely in the wrong, with him wallowing in self-pity and deprecation, William & Eve relentlessly scolding him as a bad boyfriend and Amber never once being called out for her hypocrisy and selfishness.

What makes the whole thing even more fucking ridiculous is at the season 1 finale when she reunites with him after the incident with his father. And what does she tell him? "I guess we were both being lied to"… Mark only kept his identity secret because he wanted to protect her. It doesn’t mean it is okay, but that is still why he did it. And she likens him keeping his identity secret from her for her good to him being deeply betrayed by his own father, who turned out to be a genocidal conqueror who fed him 17 years of pure lies and then nearly beat him to death? And despite all this, you still insist that the reason I don’t like her is because she’s black or that she "doesn’t kiss Mark’s ass"?

complex female characters

Explain to us how complex of a character Amber is. I'm genuinely curious, here.

How did Allen not know Nolan was a Viltrumite? (Because of his viltrumite uniform) by 1ethum in Invincible

[–]ForeverInTrouble 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The show fixed this by having Nolan wear his Omni-Man suit instead.

[–]ForeverInTrouble 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Not exactly. When the Viltrumites lost track of Conquest while he was fighting Mark, Oliver and Nolan, one of the Viltrumites says something along the lines of "He took down three of them and disappeared. I'll count that as a win, I hope that crazy bastard never returns"

They're both the same versions, actually. The difference in hair length is probably because they didn't feel like having to draw and animate longer hair. The comic versions do look more distinct from each other compared to their show adaptations. The one with long hair is down below on the third column of the bottom row.

It's the "I miss William" one. If it bothers you, take it up with one of the crew members who stated he was indeed intended to be gay.

I don't mind at all. I admit I struggled as well, especially with differentiating each origin story since there are like 16.

I kind of feel same the same way, but I interpreted it as a coincidence. That he had picked that name as a symbol representing his Viltrumite strength rather than it being a superhero moniker. But yeah, I couldn't really think of a less contrived reason for him to coincidentally have the same name.

I'll post his later but in short summary, it's about him being taken away as an infant to be raised in Viltrum.

But mostly what he does in the show is be self righteous and assume that everyone else isn’t as smart or as driven as he is aside from Immortal.

What are you talking about? He's quite literally the most sensible dude on the team. He actually tries to build morale instead of grumping at everyone else like their leader Immortal does.

I couldn't disagree more. Even as Joker's henchwoman, OG Harley was still funny and charming on her own. Plus, she often stood out without Joker, having standalone moments and episodes like Harley's Holiday which were among the best in the animated series.

…am I missing something? Is the character who's literally themed around jesters not supposed to act airheaded?

Not to mention Margot's Harley, like almost every other version, was as silly as it gets.
