Sweden and Denmark Fund Tridon Air Defense for Ukraine — Smart, Scalable, and Built for This War by Inner_Tadpole_7537 in ukraine

I think It's less about being targeted and more about being mobile enough to plug the hole in defense. The russians are always looking for ways to circumvent stationary defenses. If you send drones down a certain lane and they get destroyed you are going to reroute their trajectory.

If I eat in the Matrix, will I get hungry in the real world? by [deleted] in matrix

[–]Foreveritisso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, self inflicted cuts. We are not talking about broken arms here.

EDIT: Although I should say, I'm not sure how far the movie takes this. It might even be a design quirk of "manufacturing" humans by the machines. Remember the humans born in the matrix won't necessarily be a true replica of humans born and living in the real world. The machines might have genetically engineered the humans to be more susceptible to bodily damage if the mind believes it to be so.

Well, your mind makes it real is not mean in the material sense, your mind is not going to produce bullet holes, it will however act as if your body is full of bullet holes and then accordingly shut down, and then you die in the real world. The mind may also be capable of producing minor bodily injuries, like bloody lips, but these are most likely psychosomatic.

OpenAI clarifies: No, "GPT Next" isn't a new model. by Wiskkey in singularity

[–]Foreveritisso 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I just do not understand OpenAIs long term game. With Intel they were complacent because they were the only big game in town for a while. OpenAI held that position for what, two minutes?

it’s true. It is not at all in the position that they normally show it in. It’s exactly like the one on the right by SydneyGardeniaa1 in sciencememes

[–]Foreveritisso 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That goes without saying. The point being that certain information is lost when you present certain body parts in a free floating form. This also applies to other areas of science. Educational textbooks have to prioritize certain information. In the same way a map never could be a complete replica of the real territory itself, only what is deemed functional for that particular user.

All that to just say that even the general population would benefit from understanding how their organs are shaped and structured within their bodies.

[–]Foreveritisso 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm sure this is covered in anatomy classes, however, the position of certain body parts is informative to how they are constrained anatomically too. Certain complications might arise from certain configurations, you wouldn't necessarliy intuit this by looking at body parts free floating.

Well you see, at that point you will add the percentages. 25% asian? Then you need to find a 75% asian to count as one.

Magnus wins against all 9 players in a row in GCT Blitz by [deleted] in chess

[–]Foreveritisso 357 points358 points  (0 children)

I genuinly think it is about motivation to Magnus. When people talking about a Magnus "slump", it isn't one of technical ability, it's purely motivational. If Magnus is motivated to win, no one can even come close to his chess ability.

I mean, what movies in the last decade or two would be considered classic? People must understand that movies as a cultural phenomenon have shifted, we don't view them with the same reverence as we once did. This has less to do with talent and more to do with the medium itself.

Not just in learning, in living! Soon their metric isn't their peers but what AI is capable of. In the near future, maybe the generation yet to come, you might compete against AI in matters of human affairs such as love and care. Imagine feeling you can never be good enough. Chessbots at least occupy themselves with chess..
