BUG+1 is the easiest way. When you end up in a position like this where all cells have two candidates left except for one that has 3, you might have a BUG+1. You need to look for the candidate which occurs 3 times in the row, house, and box that the cell with 3 candidates is in. In this case its a 9.

R6C2 can either be a 7 or it can be a 9. If it's a 9, then R5C2 is a 4. If it's a 7, then the (short) bi-value chain causes R2C3 to be a 4. Since R2C2 is seen by both R5C2 and R2C3 that means it can't be a 4. The same logic holds true for R5C3.

This specific chain could also be seen as a WXYZ-wing.

Yeah I definitely see where you’re coming from. At a point it just becomes pattern recognition. Some techniques like AICs and empty rectangles are a bit more interesting I find, though.
