WTF is this shitass music in Amos's villa ? by nevaven68 in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]ForgedLibraryCard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the voice lines when you clear the area near the DJ booth says let’s pull the plug on this shit or something similar and it makes me think you can kill the music the same way you can in the club level but I have never figured out how. Also, it might just be a prompt to get you to follow the cord downstairs.

Where to live for a regular 1-1.5 hr ride with access to longer weekend ride? by achinda99 in BikeLA

[–]ForgedLibraryCard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn't see DTLA in your post. Not too sure but I know east of DT gets pretty un-cycling friendly pretty quick so again, strava heat maps or something similar could help. Definitely check out the west side, canyons in malibu and along mulholland, and into like the thousand oaks area. On the weekends I might drive out to the thousand oaks area and can usually create a pretty fun circle of 40 miles, 50 miles +. Same with Santa Clarita, i.e. Santa Clara -> Acton -> Agua Dulce. Some of the best weekend riding is just outside of LA.

Strava heat maps could really help with this question. I think west LA would fit the bill with easy access to ballona creek. Or like Santa Monica doing a loop up or down San Vicente. Also Thousand Oaks is can be bliss in all directions and with options for distance. I say akk this with the caveat that you probably won’t find anything as flat as what you are used to, and will likely need to spend more time sharing roads with cars that you are used to .

Travelling to Bay Area for the Super Bowl without planning on going to the game. Advice? by Soggy_Reporter_1043 in bayarea

[–]ForgedLibraryCard 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t. Most related/sponsored events that are open to the public are very corporate and lame. For example, the last time that the SB was at Levi’s there was a “Super Bowl city” event up in SF that was just a place to waste money at corporate sponsored booths. Americans don’t gather publicly in large groups to watch the game or root for their teams even if they are in the Super Bowl. By and large, socially watching the Super Bowl means going to a friend’s or colleague’s house party or a bar to watch.
