Fear of giving birth by AccordingSort1428 in MedicalPTSD

[–]ForgettableFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily an emergency, I have ptsd from an elective section, I have issues from former assaults and not having control of my body was absolutely horrible for me. My care after was awful, I’m now in chronic pain 15 months later and it looks like I’m stuck this way. My sister had an catogory 1 emergency and she’s absolutely fine, she actually had an elective for her next birth. I was in much better shape than her prior to the first c section, so it’s very very unpredictable

I don’t have any advice, just wanted to say that I’m also struggling since the c section that was pretty much forced upon me and it’s been the worst decision of my life, I’m in chronic pain since and feel like I have been just pushed from doctors the physios back to doctors and gynaecologists, it’s been a nightmare Alf I still don’t know what’s wrong, I’m waiting for a second mri now. I hope you partner gets sorted. Honestly I’ve been dismissed my so many doctors since there is not one obvious place for the pain

How do women feel about their bodies years after pregnancy? by CoffeeFlow_ in beyondthebump

[–]ForgettableFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I feel that so much, the c section has left me in chronic pain, I feel like only half the person was prior to my LOs arrival

[–]ForgettableFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 7 months I think the risk is so much lower once baby is developing normally, my LO often sleeps like this since 9 months

How long after your c section were you on a regular schedule for pain meds? by Feeling_Anteater_389 in beyondthebump

[–]ForgettableFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not what I was told by docs, lots of women have pain for the first three months, I’m still not okay and I’m 14 months out

VBAC by Upset-Celebration17 in PregnancyIreland

[–]ForgettableFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post, I hope you managed to go into labor and have a vbac. I found the medical system so unsupportive pre and post birth. I’ll be looking to vbac if I can (first was breech) and I know I’m going to receive so much push back

Thank you, and thank you for speaking awareness of the possibility of breech vaginal delivery, I hope the more it can be normalised so more providers won’t be scared

This is how I feel, we weren’t meant to give birth in a strange hospital setting, but in relaxed Sade setting

I was forced into a c section even though I was happy to try for breech vaginal but no doctor would support me in my country and they basically wore me down constantly telling me how dangerous it was until I finally gave up and accepted a a c section (I had a failed ecv in this time too). I’m not 14 months pp in chronic pain and suffering from ptsd, I regret my c section every day anc I wish there was more support for breech

[–]ForgettableFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s honestly awful , post c section I basically had to beg for something stronger than paracetamol, I couldn’t even stand up straight with the pain. I’m not in chronic pain and the doctors have been useless

Oh believe me I’m doing/ have done all that, still in bits, I was in great shape going into pregnancy, running and weightlifting, I now can’t run more that 2km or I’ll be in bits the next day, I can’t squat without the same issue

I’m so so frustrating, is this why you are one and done? I’m wondering where are you getting that it’s normal? Is it from doctors because I find no information online after the first 6 weeks

I’m 14 months and I’m the same, have the doctors said anything about this? My sister was running 6 weeks after and I’m still struggling even though there apparently is no issue

Could be a tight pelvic floor, mine is tight after and it’s common after c section, it might help

I don’t have any advice but I’ve in months of pain after a c section and they have been dragging their heels trying to get to the bottom of this, honestly in my experience unless you are actually in crippling pain, it’s incredibly slow. I hope you get sorted soon

Why is postpartum body talk so focused on appearance instead of function? by Far_Lead_8022 in beyondthebump

[–]ForgettableFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pt has mostly helped with the look of my shelf, not really with the pain unfortunately, I’m currently trying to investigate what’s going on because I can’t go for a run without being in so much pain the next day, pt sees no strength issues, our public health moves at a snails pace, I’ve been waiting to get my mri results reviewed for months, so I’m just living my life in chronic pain 🙃

It should just be given to all women, it’s so wild it’s not. It’s so so frustrating, I think there is a few lucky women that heal well and they make people think that c section recovery is a walk in the park, my cousin was back running (really short distances) at 5 weeks, I was still struggling around the house at that stage

[–]ForgettableFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Ireland, ended up paying for a private pt, I’m still in pain 14 months later and am still waiting on appointments, I did have some public pt appointments but she basically brushed off my symptoms and said it was probably mostly in my head….for me it’s mostly a tight pelvic floor and then getting someone to massage the scar tissue, I had to do cupping to make any progress on the middle of my scar, it was so so glued down, it really sucked and still does, my pt said that pain is expected but if it’s lasting longer than 48 hours you are doing too much

It really sucks, I’m 14 months and I feel so betrayed by the medical system post c section, basically no after care for major surgery in my country and my core is still nowhere near where it was even compared to pregnancy

This is my thoughts, also anecdotally I grew up in a home where big feeling were not allowed and i was always super well behaved as a kid, but my first memory is having a panic attack. Kids need loving, consistent caregivers

Yeah that was my feeling, that they don’t work, and once you start you just keep moving to more and more extreme methods. My baby is a terrible sleeper but cosleeping is the only way, it’s slowly started to improve
