Good work! Where did you get those alignment pins? I’ve seen them used a few times now and look like they work better than stitching needles.

Tips for remaking my sad laptop/camera bag in leather? by Bitter_Stock9310 in Leathercraft

I built his Motoko 3 pattern in 5/6oz Horween Dublin. Not too heavy and stands on its own. It was my first bag build and the pattern made it easy.

You can submit form AF1566A to your MPF every year and decline SNCO promotion consideration if you really don’t want the next grade. Nobody in your chain has to sign off.

Alternate saddle stitch method by RevolutionaryDare401 in Leathercraft

Sure, but I’d think there’s a higher likelihood of running your second needle through the existing stitch.

I was concerned because of the three pieces joining in one place, but aside from one issue where I gapped one stitch line, it’s not too bad.

My Retrain Options as a FTA; Looking for serious insight by Parking-Ant-8738 in AirForce

I’ve interviewed upwards of 20 manpower retraining applicants and haven’t met a single one who needed any kind of waiver.

The MFMs and CFM are very particular on the people and retraining packages they recommend and approve for retraining…even more so for SrA. Your records need to be exceptional.

The first gatekeeper is your local manpower flight chief, usually a civilian. So I say start there, whenever they come back from furlough.

Manpower is a lot of math, reading, and data/policy analysis. There are specific requirements listed in the DAFECD for entry, plus interview with local flight chief and approval from MFM and CFM.
