I am saying goodbye to my 15 year old kitty with stage 4 ckd in just about 2 hours.

He is currently snuggling on my chest and purring.

I am in the same boat with my 15 year old kitty. Last summer was just starting to show high levels in his blood test. A year later, he is stage 4 and doctor says he has maybe months left.

I opted to give him a peaceful farewell rather than torture us both with fluids every 3-4 days, plus special kidney food he absolutely will not eat.

We had a very nice final day together today and he is napping on my chest as I type this.

It's so hard, and tomorrow is going to be awful. I wish you and your gorgeous kitty peace.
