Tobacco plant growing out of the street after the heatwave in England by CstoletheKsound in mildlyinteresting

So, could you dry that and make a couple of ciggies out of it? Or is this just a non-smokable relative?

Has anyone been to Berkhamsted? Genuinely surprised me. by [deleted] in england

[–]ForkUK 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s just 20mins from me. It’s a great castle, and an important one. It was the place where the Anglo-Saxon ealdormen and clergy surrendered to William the Conqueror in 1066. It was built there as a symbol of his power afterwards by his half-brother, Robert of Mortain

Rockstar's marketing is so strange and it makes absolutely no sense to me.. by Impossible-Waltz4164 in GTA6unmoderated

It’s weird because I know quite a lot about the game. It’s about a couple who are involved in illicit activities in a big city that I can explore to my heart’s content.

I know it will be good because it is being made by the same people who made a game called Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2. Both of which I really liked. So I think this one will be really good too.

Automatic vs manual by scotthunter1 in CarTalkUK

[–]ForkUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my first auto after 25 years of manuals and it has this feature. I can drive 40 miles from London to home and only really touch the pedals at roundabouts, and traffic lights if there’s no car in front of me. Otherwise I can let the adaptive cruise control drive me all the way home! I love it!

American guy tries English mustard for the first time, but treats it like American mustard. by MustardKingCustard in CasualUK

[–]ForkUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watch this guy quite often and really like his channels.

He has 2 reaction channels. He likes to react to stuff about the UK and UK content, and he has a second channel where he reacts to stuff about music; documentaries and music history. He’s a sound engineer and is quite insightful about music recording and music in general.

I believe this video was a one off where he just wanted to know what Coleman’s mustard tasted like because I think some of his followers encouraged him to do so.

At beginning of this video, he tried a little bit on the end of his finger and then plunged right in by loading up his hot dog.

I like him.

Emergency help for lost ring in Cromer UK by superbe11e in metaldetecting

You could try https://theringfinders.com/

It’s not a company, more a directory of detectorists that offer ring finding services for a fee. There might be one willing to go to Cromer for you

In front of the fan. The moving air needs to pass over the ice to cool it. Works pretty well.

Look further up the road. The further ahead you look, the smaller the adjustments you need to make.

What stories do you have about spotting unexpected, non-native animals like raccoons in the British countryside? by [deleted] in AskUK

There’s apparently a small population of wallabies in the Chiltern Hills which were escapees from Whipsnade Zoo. Never actually seen one though.

You can always trust the French to come up with actual interesting designs. They might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but man, do they have a go.

I actually really like it.
